3. What are the practices (adaptation/strategies) to this inadequacy poor timing of supply
1. Cultivate and irrigate less than the entire area – cropping intensity <100% in each
season;
2. Cultivate some of the area with crops requiring less water – crop diversification;
3. Allow crops to undergo water stress and accept a decrease in yield – deficit
irrigation; and
4. Use groundwater to supplement surface (canal) water – conjunctive water use.
