9-13 December 2007, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The 3rd Global Knowledge Conference
With the themes “Emerging People, Emerging Markets
and Emerging Technologies”, the 3rd Global Knowledge
Conference (GK3) held on 9-13 December 2007 in
Kuala Lumpur brought together more than 2000
participants from all corners of the world to share ideas
and experiences on knowledge and technologies
around the world. The conference enabled participants
to create partnership for the advancement of
Knowledge and Technologies for development.
The Young Social Entrepreneurs’ Forum
The Young Social Entrepreneurs’ Forum (YSEF) was a session of the 3rd Global Knowledge
Conference. The Forum brought together 100 young social entrepreneurs
winners of the Global Young Social Entrepreneurs’ competition 2007,
social entrepreneurs, social investors, donors, and more. The Global
Young Social Entrepreneurs’ competition 2007 was organized prior to the
conference, with an entry of more than 850 young social entrepreneurs
competing with their business models. 100 young social entrepreneurs
emerged winners with their business models and were invited to attend
the Young Social Entrepreneurs’ Forum and the 3rd Global Knowledge
Conference. Having emerged one of the 100 winners, INVESTHILL was
invited and attended the conference.
INVESTHILL’s Pitch at the 3rd Global Knowledge Conference

INVESTHILL was selected together with other four enterprises to be the five youth-led social enterprises
in early development stage that will fast-track to become YSEI Innovators 2008. YSEI Innovator position
rewards with a USD 15,000 loan from Youth Social
Enterprise Initiative (YSEI) Fund, combined with
mentoring over twelve months. The five enterprises were
selected from the pool of the 100 winners of the Global
Young Social Enterprises’ Competition 2007. The five
enterprises were: INVESTHILL from DR Congo
representing Africa; Wizline from Argentina representing
Americas; E-weaves from India and Mobile Telecentres
from Philippines both representing Asia; and Donum
from Rumania representing Europe. Each enterprise
was invited to make a pitch. INVESTHILL’s pitch was
done by Mr. Hibert Kirongozi. INVESTHILL’s Pitch
highlighted briefly the conference audience how
INVESTHILL business model is supporting both
economic and social development in the Democratic
Republic of Congo and beyond.

INVESTHILL – an attraction for Media at the 3rd Global Knowledge Conference
INVESTHILL participation to The 3rd Global Knowledge Conference in Kuala Lumpur was colored with
success. INVESTHILL was an attraction to the media
people. Mr. Hibert Kirongozi had meetings and interviews
with Malaysians and International Journalists from TV,
Radio and Newspapers. Media practitioners were interested
to know more about INVESTHILL business model,
experiences and plans to support economic and social
development in DR Congo and beyond. Media practitioners
were also interested to get Mr. Kirongozi views on the 3rd
Global Knowledge Conference and the Malaysian
development experiences and the lessons learned from
these experiences that could be adapted to support
development in DR Congo and Africa.
