Objectives of the Project
1. To introduce high value and less water requiring crops in existing cropping
pattern;
2. To increase household income and nutritional status of small holder farm families
through fruits and vegetable farming on homestead fellow land;
3. To produce high quality agricultural crop and introducing modern integrated
agricultural technology for sustainable and eco-friendly agriculture
4. To increased agricultural production and productivity through crop intensification
and diversification by introducing modern agricultural technology. Cropping intensity
and crop production increased up to 15-20%.
5. Nutrition programme will be undertaken based on motivation. Awareness will be
created among the mass people, women and school children through training,
campaigning and establishing homestead and school fruits and vegetable gardening.
6. To train extension personnel and farmers for updating their knowledge on modern
technology of different crops, nutrition status and income generating activities
Beneficiary
All categories of farmer with special emphasis to
landless, small and marginal farmers are the target
beneficiaries. Priority will be given to ultra poor and
destitute women. Around 1,33,145 farm families
along with their 7,98,870 family members are
supposed to be directly benefited. Approximately
3.5 million people would be indirectly benefited

 Integrated Agricultural Approach for Ensuring Nutrition and Food
Security Project (IANFP) worked at Char, Haor and Poverty Prone 29
District 88 Upazila in Bangladesh.
 Project formed 880 farmers groups in project area. Each group
consist 30-40 farm families.
 Most of the Project activities (Crop demonstration) execute by the
farmers group.
 Project activities executing last two years.
 Farmers and school children aware about project activities and they
motivated to nutritionals & High value crops production.
 Project farmers understand production technology & profitability of
nutritional & high value crops.
 Farmers are more interested to grow nutritious crops in their crop
field.
Feedback of Nutrition Related Training
 SAAO, Imam and NGOs Worker are trained by the Project, they share
their knowledge among the general people/farmers.
 Farmers and school children aware about nutrition and they motivated
to nutritionals crops production.
 Project farmers understood production technology nutritional crops,
nutritional value of particular crops, cooking procedure etc.
 Farmers know which nutrient element is essential for their proper
growth.
Impacts of the Project activities
Impacts of the project activities will evaluate by different
agency through midterm evaluation and in-depth monitoring in
this financial year 2016-17. Both evaluation work is going on.
After the completion of the evaluation we observed the output
of the project activities.
Challenges of the executing of Project
Activities
 Lack of appropriate space for vegetable and fruit garden at school
premises or farmer home land.
 School Authority or Management Committee can not manage sufficient
space for gardening
 Village women/Farmer can not aware about nutritional crop production
technology
 Scarcity of Homestead
 Village women did not know which procedure they maintained their
vegetable preparation (Cutting, Washing) and cooking.

  • 7. 7 Objectives of the Project 1. To introduce high value and less water requiring crops in existing cropping pattern; 2. To increase household income and nutritional status of small holder farm families through fruits and vegetable farming on homestead fellow land; 3. To produce high quality agricultural crop and introducing modern integrated agricultural technology for sustainable and eco-friendly agriculture 4. To increased agricultural production and productivity through crop intensification and diversification by introducing modern agricultural technology. Cropping intensity and crop production increased up to 15-20%. 5. Nutrition programme will be undertaken based on motivation. Awareness will be created among the mass people, women and school children through training, campaigning and establishing homestead and school fruits and vegetable gardening. 6. To train extension personnel and farmers for updating their knowledge on modern technology of different crops, nutrition status and income generating activities
  • 8. Beneficiary All categories of farmer with special emphasis to landless, small and marginal farmers are the target beneficiaries. Priority will be given to ultra poor and destitute women. Around 1,33,145 farm families along with their 7,98,870 family members are supposed to be directly benefited. Approximately 3.5 million people would be indirectly benefited

  • 32. Feedback of Crops Demonstration  Integrated Agricultural Approach for Ensuring Nutrition and Food Security Project (IANFP) worked at Char, Haor and Poverty Prone 29 District 88 Upazila in Bangladesh.  Project formed 880 farmers groups in project area. Each group consist 30-40 farm families.  Most of the Project activities (Crop demonstration) execute by the farmers group.  Project activities executing last two years.  Farmers and school children aware about project activities and they motivated to nutritionals & High value crops production.  Project farmers understand production technology & profitability of nutritional & high value crops.  Farmers are more interested to grow nutritious crops in their crop field.
  • 33. Feedback of Nutrition Related Training  SAAO, Imam and NGOs Worker are trained by the Project, they share their knowledge among the general people/farmers.  Farmers and school children aware about nutrition and they motivated to nutritionals crops production.  Project farmers understood production technology nutritional crops, nutritional value of particular crops, cooking procedure etc.  Farmers know which nutrient element is essential for their proper growth.
  • 34. Impacts of the Project activities Impacts of the project activities will evaluate by different agency through midterm evaluation and in-depth monitoring in this financial year 2016-17. Both evaluation work is going on. After the completion of the evaluation we observed the output of the project activities.
  • 35. Challenges of the executing of Project Activities  Lack of appropriate space for vegetable and fruit garden at school premises or farmer home land.  School Authority or Management Committee can not manage sufficient space for gardening  Village women/Farmer can not aware about nutritional crop production technology  Scarcity of Homestead  Village women did not know which procedure they maintained their vegetable preparation (Cutting, Washing) and cooking.
