What is an Eircode?
Eircode is a smart location code for all Irish addresses
Both Commercial and Residential
Every post box will have an Eircode
Every Eircode will have an XY (in IG, ITM and WGS84)
Addresses will not change – the Eircode will be added to
current GeoDirectory Addresses
Eircode will solve Irish Addressing problems i.e.
Vanity Addresses
Rural Addressing e.g. Ciaran Kirk, Greyacre Dundalk

How Eircode Works?
Routing Key
First three characters of each Eircode
It is not directly linked to counties, towns, or geographic features
Unique Identifier
Four characters drawn from a carefully selected set of letters and numbers that
identify each individual address.
The addresses will not be in sequence
Eircode should always be presented in upper case as two parts separated by a
space, on stationary, mail items, computer forms, etc. i.e. A65 F4E2 and never
A65F4E2
