22. Digital and non digital challenges
We haven‘t established yet the complete digital marketing strategy due lack of
knowledge, changes in passed years in staff and marketing department; and what
follows is:
Our website - not updated website – we haven‘t decided yet to make completely new internet site or postpone it for
another year or two and just update the existing one;
Booking engine on our website is not optimal and it takes too many steps to make reservations,
Pre- and post- stay letters, which can be made directly out of CRM system;
Yearly plan is not completely connected through all digital chanells – google, social media, newsletters…
Establishing newsletter through Mailchimp – so far it was thorugh other channel and quite slow and expensive and it
took much time to reach final customer;
23. Digital and non digital challenges
As far as we have been chasing many changes in sales and marketing department – considers staff, we even
had one really quite year in marketing generally; and in one year there were so many news in digital marketing
that is impossible to follow all in the company by ourselves. We turned already to Experts in digital marketing
– agencies, but we haven‘t found yet the one, who is the best in websites and who in the best in capmains etc.
We don‘t use enough story telling to accelerate sales of hotels and products; rather lack of time among us and
also a knowledge about trustufull bloggers/influencers etc. Nowdays there are many of them, but who is the
right one, that influences on potenital customer?
Big issue for us - CRM… a huge project, needed an expert, but really one of the most important tools for sale
and marketing. We chase here with lack of professional knowledge, an old and non flexible PMS system – we
are in proces of chaning in in this year – which is good, tath we can start at the same time with CRM with new
PMS.
Digital is a future, but in tourism is still the man the one, who does business. In Slovenia we had really good
slogan – Tourism are people, tourism is us. Personal touch, honest and great long term relationship with
partners and customers, perfect knowledge of the market, may bring many other non digital marketing
cooperations. Still.
