1) Can you please tell us about your business? Type of business you are having?
My business’ name is handmade gifts. I sell different types of gifts like Explosion box,
‘Reasons why I love you etc.’
2) How do you advertise your business?
Through Pamphlets on social media that is, on Facebook and on Instagram.
3) How many hours do you spend in your business?
On weekdays I spend 3 to 4 hours and on weekends I spend up to 6 hours
4) What is your favourite aspect in being an entrepreneur?
I love making gifts and I actually care on whatever I do and I make others to like these gifts. I
put those feelings and memories in the gifts.
5) What motivate you to do the business?
From childhood I love ding crafts, from that I started to make gifts and sell it. I feel happy by
making it and people also feel happy when they receive it. My customers are my number one
motivation. They force me to do more and go further.
6) How do you sell your products? (Marketing Process)
I sell to friends and those friends will sell to others. The highest one is Instagram where I
upload all my works. I have a business profile on Instagram and get lots of customer from
there.
7) What is unique about your business?
First of all, it is handmade and it is done with love.
8) What made you choose this type of business?
Buying a card that is already printed is not always attractive but making it and spending time
on it is more attractive. And even sharing it with people is special.
9) What are your business goals? Where do you want to reach in the future?
I do not want to have a very big business neither small. I want my business to be moderate.
10) You are doing your business and studying at the same time. How do you manage
both?
I do spend late night hours doing my work till 2 am to 3 am.
11) How do you define your success?
Success is not about doing something and getting the money. Success is following your
passion and develop it into a business. Another thing is hard work.
4. 12) How did you identify your first customer?
Randomly, I gave a gift to a friend and that friend asked for a gift for her other friend. It all
started from there.
13) What are your future plans?
After my fashion designing course, I’m planning to start a shop. I will display some of my
fashion designing things as well as my handmade gifts.
14) If you have one piece of advice to give to someone that recently started business,
what will it be?
Follow your passion and take it to the higher level.
15) You are a woman entrepreneur, what are the difficulties that you are facing?
I have to take care of my duties at home, I have to care of even going and coming from
college till late night and doing my work and again studying in the morning.
16) The question is about finance. Is it your own money/ someone invested/ you took a
loan?
From Childhood I have saved money and now i am using it in my business. It is my own
money.
17) From now how many months/years you are in this business?
It’s been 2 years.
18) How is the business doing now?
I get lots of customers but I do not get time to do everything so I do cancel few things. I have
more customers in Vellore, Chennai and Bangalore.
19) On what basis you will accept and cancel their orders?
Accept- First they have to make the payment then the order will be confirmed.
Reject- If I cannot do the gift I will cancel it.
15 days prior they should order it, after that orders will not be taken into consideration.
20) Do you have anyone helping you in the business?
No I do not have yet. I like to apply my own thinking and style in the gifts.
21) Are you planning to employ people in the future?
Once I start my shop, I will employ people.
22) Where are you planning to start the shop? (Location)
Most probably I will open it in Chennai.
5. 23) How do you manage with competitions?
When I started I didn’t have competitors in Vellore but in Chennai there are competitors but
still people from Vellore and Chennai want my gifts as I make it with love and I take time
doing it.
24) How much do you charge approximately for the crafts?
It is customised. It is different from each other therefore the price also differs.
25) Have you attended any training programme?
No, I have learnt by myself. I started by seeing pictures, wedding cards etc. then I started my
own.
26) What is the source of getting customers?
Through relatives, cousins and friends.
27) How do you deliver the gifts?
If it is in Vellore, I will give it directly to them therefore no delivery cost. Otherwise by
courier.
28) Can you give us suggestions if we want to start a business in the future?
One thing is follow your passion.
29) What are your social responsibilities?
I didn’t think about it yet.
30) Recently I started a start-up, the name of the start-up is ‘’Rentbaaz’’( renting your
unused things). What is your suggestion on this?
Doing business is a big deal. Sell the products at reasonable price so that everyone can afford.
