2. A Leeds couple, Harry and Amanda Lee, lent us this photo
from their wedding at the shrine of the Tenrikyo faith in Japan
in 2000, for the Tales from Japan exhibition in 2001. They put
us in touch with Mr Kato, of the Tenrikyo Mission in Leeds.
3. Dining at Little Tokyo, Centre St, Leeds you see
kimonos on the walls and carp in a pond
9. In Chinese Treasures at Lotherton Hall, 2008
a contemporary loan from K P Chan compared well with a Song dynasty
table ornament, helping the audience see the peach is a symbol of long life.
10. The false beard worn by a Leeds
Yuk Ming opera performer in 2007
helped identify a 1900 museum
figure as being of an opera singer
