This document discusses non-verbal communication and how much information is conveyed non-verbally rather than through words alone. It notes that over 65% of social meanings in a conversation are communicated non-verbally through facial expressions, gestures, body language, eye contact, posture, and other physical cues. Specific types of non-verbal communication are defined, including kinesics, proxemics, haptics, oculesics, and others relating to physical appearance, use of space, touch, eye contact, and other visual cues.
