1. Examining a Network of Food Resources
to Address Food Insecurity
• The UN RCE Georgetown is partnering with a local food bank
to identify the food resources available in the community and
determine gaps in coverage

2. Project will result in a dashboard of local
resources and policy recommendations
• Using Tableau to map out food banks/pantries, community
gardens, and partner organizations (as well as their
connections)
• Surveying local food resource users to identify gaps
• Developing an executive report on findings with policy
recommendations to strengthen the network

3. Preliminary findings indicate that there is
wide range of informal coverage
• A wide range of local organizations partner with a small
number of well resourced partners
– High reliance on volunteers
– Lack of communication and clarity on resources available
• Opportunity for an intentional collective impact initiative to
address weaknesses in the network
