•Pressure overload:
Hypertension
Aortic Stenosis
•Volume overload:
Aortic regurgitation
Mitral regurgitation

3. •Wall abnormalities:
hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

4. Radiological findings
PA chest x_ray showing:
Left heart border displaced inferiorly or posteriorly and to the left.
Rounding of cardiac apex.
Depression of left hemi diaphragm.
Larger left heart border.

5. Radiological signs
• Shmoo sign : appearance of:
 prominent rounded left ventricle
Dilated aorta on plain AP chest X-ray giving the appearance
of shmoo.
