Major fungicides

  1. 1. Major Fungicides
  2. 2. NIDAR Myclobutanil 10% WP • NIDAR is a systemic fungicide with protective and curative action, very effective in controlling diseases in Fruits, Vegetables, etc. • NIDAR highly effective fungicide against disease Scab and Powdery Mildew. But also effective against diseases like Anthracnose, Rust, etc. • Special Features:  NIDAR does not allow the pathogen to infect and get established in the plant.  NIDAR kills the infection peg or germinating spores before infection becomes established.  NIDAR when used as eradicative application, arrest the infection and further sporulation.  NIDAR has a longer protection period and not phytotoxic when used as recommended.
  3. 3. Special Features: • NIDAR when used as prophylactic or preventive application does not allow the pathogen to get infected and establish in the plant. • NIDAR when used as curative application even if applied upto 96 hours after infection process has initiated, kills the infection peg or germinating spores before infection becomes established. • NIDAR when used as eradicative application, arrest the infection and further sporulation. When applied on developed symptoms after infection, it helps in checking the spread of infection. Thus, ensures protection against diseases.
  4. 4. Method of application: • Application of NIDAR immediately after when first symptoms of disease are noticed. Although number of spray and interval depends on severity of the disease spray, in general repeat spray at interval of 14 days if infection is severe or after 21 days in case of moderate infection. • In case of Grapes, apply at the time of rachis elongation, flowering initiation, fruit setting alternating spray application with contact fungicide SAFETY/ HINDUSTAN M- 45 for an effective control of disease Powdery Mildew. • In case of Apple, apply at the time of initial symptoms & repeat when fruit is around pea size to walnut size during fruit development stage.

  7. 7. PANTHER GOLD [Captan 70% + Hexaconazole 5% WP] • PANTHER GOLD is a contact / non-systemic fungicide with protective and curative action. • It gives excellent protection against a wide range of fungal pathogens. • PANTHER GOLD used for foliar application, has a longer protection period than any other fungicide.
  8. 8. • PANTHER GOLD not phytotoxic when used as per recommendation. • Take the required quantity of PANTHER GOLD, dilute with a little water and stir well by using a stick. Then add the remaining quantity of water as per spray volume required and mix well again by stirring.

  23. 23. SUKIHYA VIP [Validamycin 3% L] • Sukhiya VIP is an antifungal preparation and a systemic antibiotic compound. • Sukhiya VIP having fungistatic action (inhibition of fungal growth, sporulation or spore germination) on a range of fungal pathogens. • Causes abnormal branching of the tips of the pathogen followed by cessation of further development.
  24. 24. • It has low mammalian toxicity and hence a safe antibiotic. • Sukhiya VIP recommended when the first symptoms of greenish lesions are noticed or at maximum tillering stage in rice. • Applications of Sukhiya VIP by directing the spray towards the base of the plant twice at an interval of 15 days effectively controls the sheath blight disease.

  27. 27. Sukhiya VIP also effectively controls diseases on the following crops: • Soil Drench – Damping-off in vegetables, rice, etc. nurseries. • Foliar spray – Vegetables, Potato, sugar beet, etc. • Seed dressing – Ginger.
  28. 28. Bindaas/ Bond
  29. 29. • Band Name: BINDAAS • Technical Name: (Tricyclazole 75 % WP) • Special Features: • It is a specialty systemic fungicide. • Tricyclazole is systemic, highly protective effect and long residual activity. • It inhibits appressorial penetration probably due to the lack of melanization. • Bindass is rapidly absorbed by paddy plant and translocated towards leaf tips. • Bindass is most effective fungicide for prevention of paddy blast disease.
