2. Visible Noise Visible noise are an independent UK record label that were set up in 1998 that specialise in promoting Rock and Metal bands. Visible Noise was founded by Julie Weir, who ran extreme metal label Cacophonous for a number of years. Visible noise is based in London and has signed some of the most well known UK bands of the genre that often appear on magazine covers and play sell-out shows all over the UK even headlining major UK festivals such as download festival and have played gigs all over the world.

10. Download Music Festival. Download Festival is a rock and metal festival based in Donnington, the festival lasts 3 days and has a wide number of acts from across the rock and metal scene. This year THE PLIGHT who are signed to Visible Noise are playing a set on the Red Bull bedroom jam stage on Saturday. (Previous Visible Noise band Bullet For My Valentine are headlining the second stage on Friday night) Last year BRING ME THE HORIZON played a set on the second stage on the Friday and in 2008 LOSTPROPHETS headlined the main stage on the Sunday. The bands are also marketed through YouTube videos, playing gigs and fans can get email and mobile updates on the bands through the Visible Noise newsletters. New media technology has made it possible for fans of Visible Noise and the bands they promote to become more interactive with the bands, they can now get regular updates with ease without having to read through magazines every week or rely on word of mouth to find out about their favourite bands.
12. Distribution and Exchange. Visible noise has music available in many formats, CD’s, music DVD’s, downloads and vinyl records are all available to buy from visible noise. Music is sold through digital online downloads and through hard copy in the form of CD’s, music DVD’s, downloads and vinyl records.
