This guide outlines what you need to do in order to start using the automatic email follow up features in GuessBox. It's pretty simple, if an email you've sent to a lead through GuessBox doesn't receive a reply within two days, then GuessBox will automatically send through a follow up message (specified by you) asking your prospective lead whether or not they received your previous email, and what the state of your relationship is.
Note: You can try GuessBox.io for free by registering at http://guessbox.io
Follow ups are an imperative part of outbound email marketing, and ensure that you have the highest chance of actually receiving a positive response from your target leads.
This guide has a video walkthrough that accompanies it. You can find that on our YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWwSlfeHK2McZ3e7QdRG84w

How To Integrate Your Mail Server With GuessBox.io For Auto-Follow Ups
1. How To Integrate Your Email Server With
GuessBox.io
Introduction
If you are using GuessBox for more than just lead generation, but also using it as your
outbound email client then it’s important that you have your mail server integrated with the
app. This allows GuessBox to automatically catch any replies you receive from your leads,
and show them to you within the app. Additionally, GuessBox can then schedule automatic
‘follow up’ messages on your behalf if your selected leads don’t reply after x number of days.
If you are not using a company like Google, Hotmail or Yahoo to manage your emails then the
process is extremely simple. All you need are the IMAP details of your server that typically
come in the form of imap.yourdomain.com followed by a port (typically, 993). If you are using
Google et al then there is just one extra step you need to take for security reasons. But we’ll
talk about that later.
Finding Your IMAP Details
If you are using your own mail server, the easiest way to find your IMAP details is either to
login into your hosting account and then navigate to your email settings page. Alternatively,
you can get in contact with your web host and ask them to provide you with those details.
As per above, typically the ‘host’ will be imap.yourdomain.com - in my case if I wasn’t using
Google Apps to manage my emails it would be the following:
Host: imap.guessbox.io
Port: 993
Username: eric@guessbox.io
Password: my email password.
Once you have these details, navigate to the settings page in GuessBox and fill out the IMAP
form and press ‘save’.

2. How to Setup Google Apps IMAP Details in GuessBox
If you are using Google Apps to manage your company’s email, here are the IMAP details:
Host: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
Username: your full email address (i.e. eric@guessbox.io)
Password:your generated IMAP password (see below)
Login into your Gmail account and make sure you have IMAP enabled. To do this, make sure
you are logged into Gmail with the account you want to use with GuessBox and navigate to
this page.

3. It should look a little something like this. See the third section labeled, IMAP Access? Check
the radio button to enable IMAP.
Setting Up Two Step Authentication With Google Apps / Gmail
Once you have done that you will need to allow GuessBox to directly communicate with your
account and retrieve emails in order to check whether or not replies have arrived and perform
auto-follow ups along with other campaign management functions.
Whilst remaining logged into your primary email, navigate to your security pageand if you
don’t see an option for ‘app passwords’ as per below then you will need to first turn on 2-Step
Verification. It’s pretty easy just follow the prompts Google provides you with and in less than
a minute it will be activated.

5. Obviously, you won’t have the GuessBox option in there yet so what you will need to do is click
on the ‘Select app’ dropdown and choose the ‘Other (custom name)’option. Provide a simple
description to describe your app (you can use GuessBox if you would like) and then press the
generate button.
Google will give generate you a new app password which is what you will be using above
when filling out your IMAP details on GuessBox. The instructions provided below should give
you a clearer indicator of how it works.
Note: Once you’ve done this, if you no longer want 2-Step Verification to be enabled because
you find it annoying having to receive a code on your cell phone every time you try logging into
a Google product then you can disable it from the previous page. This won’t disable access to
your app password & integration with GuessBox.

6. Allowing Less Secure Apps With Google
In the odd chance that you are still experiencing trouble receiving emails via GuessBox, you
can allow Google to communicate with ‘less secure apps’. Less secure in this case doesn’t
mean apps that will steal your personal information or identity, it’s just that they may use a
different standard protocol for transmission of information that what is Google’s standard.
To do this, Go to the "Less secure apps" sectionin My Account.
Next to "Access for less secure apps," select Turn on. (Note to Google Apps users:This
setting is hidden if your administrator has locked less secure app account access.) If this is
the case you will need to do it via your Google Apps admin panel.
Conclusion
And that’s it! In the future, the process will become easier as the GuessBox team looks to
develop more seamless integrations with third parties. But for now, if you have any questions
