2. A little HISTORY
• I was still six when my Granny told me stories of
Ramayana and Mahabharata, I just got mesmerised.
• At twelve I never missed a single episode of Sri Krishna
(The only T.V. Show I watched those days), happily
accepting mockeries of friends.
• By the eighteenth birthday, I had known that Indians
discovered- zero, decimals, republican system of
government, had given one of the oldest written text,
was the first to abolish slavery and what not. I was sure
that this couldn’t be the result of a few innovative minds.
It had to do something with THIER HISTORY.
3. So What???
• I felt, I had got the answer to my simple question, “Why
dint my Granny’s story seem as a simple fairy tail? Why
did it sound real?” “It is real” was my belief. “It very much
is a part of our glorious history.”
• My belief got stronger when I learnt about “Well planned
city of Dwarika” drowned in water and when I got to
know that historians have agreed that battle of
“Mahabharata” was actually fought.
• Suddenly analyzing various events of our so called
mythology (I don’t consider them myth ) and calculating
about their chronological order became my biggest
hobby.
4. Still eighteen, I got into • I joined my engineering, secured
an engineering college
fairly good marks, but did not
leave behind MY HISTORY.
• I continued to read various
articles, theories about Indian
History and got to know various
contradicting view about same
issues, about same instances,
about same episodes.
• Then it struck, “Why just rely on
others interpretations, why not
interpret myself ”
6. Belief Vs Reality
Belief Reality
• I have immense • I have limited
knowledge knowledge
• I can easily • A lot of study
divide our has to be done
history into to reach to this
similar time level
frames • Knowledge is
• Knowledge is not just hard,
not difficult to but also
attain if you expensive to
have interest attain, even if
you have
interest
7. The DREAM
• Getting to know about the reality made me forget
about my desire.
• It was perhaps lost somewhere till I heard of
Godrej loud. “I can fund the expenditure of this
study. Hurray!”
• My DREAM for today is to learn Vedic Sanskrit
and read the original copies of more the more
ancient books and gather relevant information
for my BOOK
