Chaired Jewish Federation “Kehillah Initiative” bringing 15 synagogues and
numerous agencies together to create new programming and develop/sustain
household participation in core institutions. Created first 6-congregation Israel Trip
in the area followed up with High School age Israel programs and teaching
certification programs at Gratz College and the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish
Education.
Fundraising – Increased donor base instituting yearly gala (Gift Auction) with $9000
base net to $25,000 net. Acquired new major donors at +$25,000 gifts.
Congregational Rabbi, Beth Shalom, Baton Rouge, LA 1996 – 1998
Created a safe haven for Jews and other non-Christians (mostly from Louisiana
State University) in a racially and religiously charged atmosphere. Also conducted
Black/Jewish relations.
Convened the congregations of Louisiana and Mississippi to create education
