device that processes data . Converting it into
information that is useful to people . Any
computer –regardless of its type is controlled
by programmed instructions , which gives the
machine a purpose and tell it what to do.

personal computer. A personal computer that
Is designed to sit on a desk or table . These

school ,homes , and office .

than those of just a few year’s ago . Not only

5. MINICOMPUTER
Mini computer, computer that was smaller ,less
expensive , and less powerful than a main
frame or super computer but more expensive
and more powerful than a personal computer.
Minicomputers were use for scientific and
engineering computations , business
transaction processing , file handing , and
database management .

6. MAINFRAME COMPUTER
 A main frame computer, informally called a
main frame or a big iron , is a computer used
primarily by large organizations for critical
applications like bulk data processing for tasks
such as censuses , industry and consumer
statistics, enterprise resource planning , and
large – scale transaction processing .

7. SUPER COMPUTER
 A super computer is a computer with a high
level of performance as compared to a
general-purpose computer . The performance
of a super computer is commonly measured in
floating-point operations per second instead of
million instructions per second.
