  3. 6th International Disaster and Risk Conference IDRC 2016 ‘Integrative Risk Management – Towards Resilient Cities‘ • 28 Aug – 1 Sept 2016 • Davos • Switzerland www.grforum.org The Concept of Sustainability The concept of Sustainability or Sustainable development refers to the desire that the coordination of natural events with the flow of human activities would follow the state of dynamic equilibrium and finally leads to achieve the average state of steady equilibrium. We do pre-planning to avoid unstable equilibrium. When the system is affected by any sort of disturbances (like issues of climate change), we ought to find a way through which we can regain the state of stable equilibrium. 4. 6th International Disaster and Risk Conference IDRC 2016 ‘Integrative Risk Management – Towards Resilient Cities‘ • 28 Aug – 1 Sept 2016 • Davos • Switzerland www.grforum.org The concept of Sustainable Agriculture Sustainable agriculture refers to making the agricultural system capable for self-regulation by negative and positive feedback mechanisms so that it can regain its previous state of equilibrium after facing disturbances. Conceptualization of Sustainable Development Ag : No. of farmers adapting alternative agricultural pattern Cg : No. of farmers following conventional agricultural pattern Disturbance Conventional Agriculture Alternative Agriculture  Native cropping pattern and techniques used in agriculture  Do not use water efficiently  Encourage the notion of ‘more crop per drop’  Adaptation of new cropping pattern and water-efficient technology Assumptions:  Farmers like to follow the pattern of conventional agriculture during normal climatic condition  They are informed with the know-how of alternative agriculture

  9. 6th International Disaster and Risk Conference IDRC 2016 ‘Integrative Risk Management – Towards Resilient Cities‘ • 28 Aug – 1 Sept 2016 • Davos • Switzerland www.grforum.org Conclusion The proposed e-agricultural application would aware people and encourage farmers and individuals (related to agriculture):  To synchronize agricultural production with presumed weather condition adopting alternative agriculture with water efficient techniques  To take the facility of proper crop insurance and market price. Thank You
