A. Reviewing previous lesson or
presenting the new lesson
What are the three kinds of systems
of linear equations in two variables?
How to solve systems of linear
equations in two variables by
graphing?
How to solve systems of linear equations in two
variables by substitution method?
What are your attitudes that you need to
eliminate?

doings by good doings?
C. Presenting
examples/instances of the new
lesson
Group the students into 5 and let
them perform activity 2 on pp. 270.
Let the students perform activity 3
on pp. 271. This is by-pair activity.
Show to the students a pair of linear equations.
Then, let them think how to eliminate one of the
two variables.
D. Discussing new concepts and
practicing new skills #1
Process the activity. Process the activity using the
questions on pp. 271
E. Discussing new concepts and
practicing new skills #2

equations in two variables by
substitution.
Discuss solving systems of linear equations in
two variables by elimination.
F. Developing mastery(Leads to
Formative Assessment)
GROUP WORK: GROUP WORK: Have a board work activity.
G. Finding practical applications
of concepts and skills in daily
living
How is system of linear equations in
two variables used in solving real life
problems?
How is system of linear equations in
two variables used in solving real life
problems?
How is system of linear equations in two
variables used in solving real life problems?
H. Making Generalizations and
abstractions about the lesson
How to find solutions of system of
linear equations by graphing?
How to find solutions of system of
linear equations using substitution
method?
Another way of solving systems of linear
equations in two variables is by elimination.
This method of solving systems of linear
equations depends on the addition property of
equality, which states that when two quantities
are equal, adding the same number to each
quantity results in equal sums. This is used
when the coefficients of one of the unknown
quantities in the equations are equal in absolute
value.

Group the students into 5 and let
them perform Activity 2. A Line or

Process the activity. Process the activity.
E. Discussing new concepts
and practicing new skills #2
Discuss solving system of linear
inequalities by graphing.
An ordered pair (x,y) is a solution
to a system of inequalities if it
satisfies all the inequalities in the
system. To solve a system of
inequalities in two variable by
graphing:
1. Draw the graph of each
inequality on the same
coordinate plane. Shade the
appropriate half-planed.
2. The region where shaded
areas overlap is the graphical
solution to the system. If the
graph does not overlap, then the
system has no solution.
Discuss solving number
and age problems involving
system of linear inequalities
in two variables.
Advise them that to solve
problems involving system
of linear inequalities: read
carefully the problem, have
a representation, form an
equations, then, solve for x
and y.
F. Developing

Assessment)
Group work: (5groups)
Activity 5: Am I In That
Region? LM pp. 297-298.
Have a board work activity.
Solve the system of
inequalities graphically.
Each group will answer
different system of
inequalities.
G. Finding practical

Developing mastery(Leads to Formative Assessment) Group work: (5groups) Activity 5: Am I In That Region? LM pp. 297-298. Have a board work activity.
