This event marked the total incorporation of Iceland into Denmark-Norway as bishop Brynjólfur Sveinsson and lögmaður Árni Oddsson on behalf of the Icelandic people signed a document confirming that the introduction of absolute monarchy by the King also applied to Iceland.
