The 2nd Annual J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board Annual Report Cover Design
Contest
Description (for State Alumni submission page):
All Fulbright alumni and current participants are invited to submit their origi-
nal cover designs for the 2010-2011 Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board
(FSB) Annual Report. The report is yours in that it documents the impact of
the Fulbright Program through the activity of its alumni, grantees and spon-
sors.
The winning design may be featured on the front cover of the 2010-2011
report, with photo and captioned credit. Honorable mentions may also be
featured in the report. We also look to incorporate the selected design - and
design elements from other entries - within the report. Past editions of the
Annual Report are available at http://fulbright.state.gov/fsb.html.
Eligibility: All entrants must be alumni or current participants of the Fulbright Program and must be
registered on the State Alumni website before submitting their entries.
Deadline: Submissions are accepted from August 1 through September 30, 2011. If your submission
is selected, you will be contacted within eight weeks of the closing date of the competition.
Evaluation Criteria: Selection of the cover design contest entries will be based on three criteria: 1)
originality; 2) appropriateness of cover design; and 3) timeliness of submission.
Design Hints: Country flags can appear as special recognition of some countries or country programs
over others. Although the Contest encourages maximum creativity, neon colors such as hot pink may
require muting or other modification.
Instructions: Please complete the online form available at https://alumni.state.gov/fulbright/fsb, at-
tach your design, and click “send” to submit your design. Multiple entries are permitted. All entries
must include the title, description or caption, and the design image.
Hubert H. Humphrey Alumni Professional Development Grants
The goal of the Alumni Professional Development Grant is to provide funding for alumni to attend a
conference, workshop or other professional activity that continues to draw upon the Humphrey experi-
ence by strengthening an alumnus/a's professional development. Applications should focus on profes-
sional activities rather than research-based endeavors and provide a detailed explanation of how this
grant would offer concrete benefits to the alum and/or to the larger community.
Some examples of Alumni Professional Development Grant activities: Attend a conference or seminar
relating to professional field; Enroll in a short training course or workshop enhancing specialized skills
and/or knowledge; Arrange site visits or consultations with professional counterparts. The Alumni Pro-
fessional Development Grant can be used for an activity anywhere in the world.
Humphrey alumni are eligible to apply for an Alumni Professional Development Grant three years after
their completion of the Program.

The Romanian finalists are high school teachers in different fields, from English to mathematics or biol-
ogy, from different cities in Romania. Congratulations to all the finalists!
