2. Initial plans (proposal)
My initial plans where to make a monthly meme magazine. With a
running social space along side it. This idea became a reality when in
production with the key focus on social media like website doing really
well. With people able to sigh up to it and post memes they wanted to
share. A well as being involved with the people on my page as well by
posting. As well as on the DPS and front cover went better than
expected with it having all the content I wanted on there as well as the
title being the same as on the plan. Therefor keeping the ideas to the
same as my initial plans.
3. Research
Why we did this was to help us to see what other products that we
have been thinking of looked like this was before our initial ideas.
Meaning we could base our products off of. As well as what makes a
“good product” meaning that our products we could base it off as well
as we labelled the products we researched so we could full analyse the
work we did.
4. Production
What I made sure is the production kept as
close to the flat plans and style sheet as
possible. With my product keeping almost to
the main idea. Although what I made some
changes with is with the background.
Changing it to a shooting stars background
due to it being a well know funny meme as
well as keeping text and tiles bright to stand
out. With the images I made via Photoshop to
make. Although with this it made my final
product stand out among other magazines I
used for experiments and from research due
to the images on the front.
5. Production
What I did for my DPs is I made it relate to my
front cover with the background. Of the dps
being that same with the glaxsay effect.
Putting in in fonts from da font then editing
them in the dps making the writing legible
from the dark background.
Aw well as using images I edited from online
to show off the main article and what I was
talking about. As well as using my own
photography for the snap chat filters. In the
photography room at college.
6. Production
The last bit of production was making
the website on wix. This was done by
picking a template that was a “blog
page” that I changed more to fit my
magazine and suit it to the social media
concept I was looking for. As well as
making sure the website would be
running smooth experience for users. As
well as when the website was live
getting feedback straight away. Therefor
giving me time to fix the problems they
where causing.
7. Issues
Some issues I came across was the websites layout and functionality.
Because I wanted to make a social space I needed people to be able to
post on my page. Therefor having to go though a “test faze” where I
had a user log onto the page and see how much they could do on the
website. After the testing was complete I mad the changes that where
necessary. And making sure the website is right an working for
everyone that used it. Other issues where grammar and spelling errors
that could affect the whole flow of the magazine as well as lower my
marks for mistakes that could be clearly fixed by putting in a word file.
So that’s what I did.
8. Analyse
A magazine I could really relate mine to is
the Pokémon magazine. When looking at
how other layouts did there covers. With
the Pokémon magazine having so many
different sticker like posts every where on
the page. So I tried to keep to that idea and
concept with the bubbles and the content
all spread around the page. Also i kept the
title clear and readable throughout all the
content on the front of the page. As well as
little snippets of what's inside the
magazine and what content to expect.
9. Audience.
What I managed to do with my audiences views and appeals was
set my magazine round a stand point and the look of something
they’ll buy as well as what they could get involved with too. This
went well because it meant my target audience could help me
with the design of the magazine while I was making it to ensure
there satisfaction. This was mainly done on wix when I kept
putting the page “live” then was able to turn it off and edit the
page.
10. Peer feedback
I found the magazine very interesting, it was very unique to say the
least. The reason for thinking this is because, its about memes, and as
far as I know there isn’t a meme magazine out there. I like the fonts
you have chosen, they stick to the ‘Meme theme’. I also like that you
have lots of different memes on your cover and not just one meme.
This gives your magazine variation.
11. Peer feedback 2
the magazine was suited to the certain type of audience you where
aiming towards. Although what it lacked was on the cover you had a
huge space where you could of extended on (like put in another
meme.) although you website is a really good social space platform.
Giving for people to share and live up to the memes posted.
