12. 8. Selected Recent Projects
The Database Information Platform for Effective Use of Research Results Project
- Innovative Economy Operational Programme, financing from Structural Funds
• The Open Innovation concept and technology transfer initiatives point
to interdisciplinary consortia as the main locus of innovation development
and underline the need for appropriate communication between research
and industrial partners at every stage of the research process. The best use
of knowledge and support for innovation in an interdisciplinary consortium
requires a uniform system of knowledge transfer and management.
• The objective of the project was to develop and implement a tool allowing
a scientific research consortium to achieve synergy through the joint use
of complementary knowledge and organisational resources and equipment.
• The Information Platform created within the project enables the management
of knowledge and highly complex R&D projects taking into account
the requirements of industry relating to cooperation with research
organisations. This required the design and implementation of a dedicated
information system increasing R&D process effectiveness, supporting network
cooperation between R&D organisations and facilitating the acquisition
of industrial and research partners.

13. 8. Selected Recent Projects
The Database Information Platform for Effective Use of Research Results Project
- Innovative Economy Operational Programme, financing from Structural Funds
• The project is being carried out by TPF and 10 R&D institutes representing
1500 scientists and executing 900 R&D projects annually.
• The Platform consists of the following key elements: (1) databases of research
results, information on technical infrastructure resources, HR, scientific knowledge
databases, research work roadmap; (2) an internal information portal supporting
exchange of information between the partners; (3) an external information portal
intended for other organisations – research networks and industrial partners.
• By supporting the formation of multidisciplinary research teams, the system
enables the creation of a social network of research workers. All registered
Platform users possess their own profiles presenting their characteristics
(personal data, education, competencies, interests, areas of current research
activity, publications, etc.). The system enables viewing profiles and searching
for people according to specific characteristics, communicating with them, as well
as creating shared workgroups (within forums or defined project environments).
