3. Equity Mutual Fund inflows decline to 10 month low of Rs. 6,120 Crore
in August
- Net inflows intoequity-oriented mutual fund (MF) schemes dropped 31 per cent month-on-month toRs 6,120 crore in August, according tothe
monthly data released by the Association ofMutual Funds in India (AMFI).
- Within the equity category, sectoral orthematic funds saw the biggest outflow at Rs1,267 crore, while the βlarge & mid cap fundβ segment saw the
highest net inflows ofRs 1,031 crore.
- Debt-oriented schemes received net flows of Rs 49,164 crore compared tojust Rs 4,930 crore in July. The liquid funds category saw the highest net
inflow ofRs 50,095 crores, followed byultra-short durationfunds at Rs6,372 crore andmoney market funds at Rs 5,929 crore.

4. Indiaβs foreign exchange reserves fall to$553.1billion
- Indiaβs foreign exchange reserves fell to their lowest in over 23 months on likely dollar sales by the
countryβs central bank to stem the fall in the local currency.
- The reserves fell $7.94 billion to $553.1 billion as of September 2, data released by the Reserve Bank
of India showed last Friday. The is the lowest since October 9, 2020.
- The Indian rupee has fallen about 7% this year and stayed around the middle of the pack among
emerging market Asian peers.
5. FPIs infuse Rs 5,600 crore in Indian equities in September so far
- Foreign investors have pumped in close to Rs 5,600 crore into the domestic equity markets in this
month so far on expected growth in consumer spending in festive season and better macro
fundamentals compared to other emerging markets.
- There is a clear trend reversal in FPI (Foreign Portfolio Investment) flows from July onwards since
when overseas investors turned buyers in India after nine straight months of massive net outflows,
which started in October last year.
- Between October 2021 and June 2022, they sold a massive βΉ2.46 lakh crore in the India equity markets.

6. The NFO is open and will close on September 21. Investors can invest a
minimum amount of Rs 5,000 during the NFO period. The fund will be
managed by Pankaj Tibrewal and Abhishek Bisen.
- The fund would invest in stocks and sectors of the companies
that can navigate through various economic cycles. The term
"Business Cycle" refers to various stages where a company or a
specific sector undergoes a period of expansion, moderation
and contraction in the business.
- Kotak Business Cycle Fund will take into account various
economic parameters (GDP growth, current account deficit,
corporate profit growth trend, inflation etc.), investment
indicators (investment in capex, capacity utilisation, credit
growth, etc.), business and leading economic indicators
