2. Last class was our last time working on our polymer
project. Just like how I mentioned in my previous journal,
my group and I decided to design an IPhone speaker. Well,
things didn’t work out the way we wanted it to be.
3. We took our polymer, the
one we left on the
counter over night..
anddd it became ‘hard
paper’ and that’s
definitely not what we
needed. Half stayed
sticky though, and that’s
not what we needed
either. Our goal, which is
the IPhone speaker
couldn’t be made with
these polymers and it
was our last class soooo
it was kind of a challenge.
4. Sooo we had three kinds of polymers.. I assure you that we used the same
recipe. We left one in the freezer and it was as hard as a rock. Then we left a
huge amount in the counter so we could use it for our speaker but half of it
turned to hard paper and the other half was still sticky. These are some of
the difficulties we faced. So yes, I was so worried and kind of disappointed
of what we got. Then we put the three kinds of polymers in front of us,
thought of what else we could create with these polymers since our ide,
iPhone speaker didn’t work. And that’s okay I guess because were
experiencing and seeing which works. To be honest, we didn’t come up
with anything during our class time but after school I went to take the
polymers and took them home to work on my own pace.
5. So I went home and
thought about what
could I create with these
polymers. I decided to
create an ISB magnet. It
would help people to
put calendars, picture
memories, chores list
etc..on their fridge or
freezer.
6. I had a lot of polymer left and I felt as if a magnet is just a small
thing not a lot of people would buy. So I created another product,
which is a cardholder. Of course it will be helpful for a lot of
people! Students for their lunch car, parents for their credit cards
etc, teachers for name card, and other people for business cards.
7. The last thing I wanted to create is a hot pot/Trivet. People would use it to put it
under their drinks or so.
8. So, that’s my group’s product. It’s a small ISB kit that contains cardholder, hotpot/trivet, and
a magnet. Those are all made out of polymer. All we need know is a name for our kit, a small
1-2 min commercial that we would work on next class. So far what we have is good. I’m glad
that we changed it since we the Speaker didn’t work out because of the way our polymer
came out. Over all I’m excited for starting on our commercial!
