Dear Reader,
I'm a hotelier with 8 years of experience, overseeing hotel management as a whole. A people-
oriented professional focused in environment wellness and guest satisfaction.
My most recent experience has been as General Manager at Samba Hotels. During this challenging
opportunity I had the chance to respond for the first two properties for this new hotel chain. I was
responsible for managing all pre-operational processes including construction management vs
opening, equipment and furniture purchasing, setting suppliers, developing sales and marketing
structures, hiring and training. Having an operational background, I devoted most of my time to
employees on the front line managing, monitoring and motivating them, ensuring excellence of
service delivery while meeting planned goals. I also monitored customer satisfaction on a daily basis,
using feedback from Guest Survey and Trip Advisor to recognize outstanding service and employee
performance. Additionally, I was engaged with the communities in which we were acting,
establishing relationship with key stakeholders such as the Tourism Bureau, Tourism Secretaries,
Mayors, several associations and business groups. After achieving this hotel’s first year’s goals, I
oversaw the implementation of a Samba Hotel takeover, further consolidating the brand in the
Brazilian hospitality market. These experiences allowed me to have a deeper understanding of the
hospitality process as a whole, from pre-opening preparations to its fully functional day-to-day
activities.
I graduated Bachelor in Hospitality Management from Castelli Escola Superior de Hotelaria, in
Canela/RS, Brazil and started my career at the Hilton Sao Paulo Morumbi as a Bellman. Growing
quickly in the Front Office department, I moved to being Departmental Trainer, Hilton HHonors
Manager and Front Office Assistant Manager in 3 years. In this period, I implemented the concept of
up selling, reaching its best results since hotel’s opening – 10 years. Still in the Hilton Sao Paulo I had
the chance to develop myself in the corporate environment as Sales Manager, being responsible for
Transient and Groups production for the Pharmaceutical Industry, being awarded in several
opportunities for achieving strategic metrics.
Looking back on my career path in the hospitality business, I trust that I have had enough enriching
and diverse experiences to achieve even greater goals. And I believe embracing challenges in new
cultures, countries and markets is the next promising step to take.
