This document discusses Car Easy Apps, a concept to standardize access to vehicle data through smartphone apps. It proposes a platform using APIs and SDKs to allow third-party developers to create new apps that utilize connected vehicle data, while ensuring security and privacy. This would stimulate app creation and avoid market fragmentation. The concept was tested on a PSA vehicle and addresses making vehicle data available for both new and existing cars.
