  3. 3.  An amalgamation of the former TMACs for Land and Water Management and Disaster Risk Management  Members: FAO, CDEMA, 5Cs, CIMH, CS, IICA, CARDI, CaFaN, OECS Secretariat, CABA, CRFM  Have met 9 times over the past 3 years (4 face-to-face)  Core role:  Information management and coordination  Advocacy  Specialist knowledge/services OVERVIEW
  4. 4. Overall Objective: To implement measures to remove the constraints and improve coordination and harmonization of work programmes related to Climate Change, Disaster Risk Management and Natural Resource Management which affect regional agriculture. OBJECTIVES
  5. 5.  Institutional Strengthening  Increased and sustained knowledge management  Improved integration of DRM in the agriculture sector  Strengthened Community Resilience – Early Warning Systems  Strengthening Community Resilience – Climate Smart Agriculture Priority Areas

  7. 7.  MoAs/stakeholders of 9/10 member states better able to integrate gender considerations into disaster planning (FAO)  MoAs/stakeholders of 10/11 member states now aware of the GCF opportunities for the agriculture sector and more knowledgeable on how to access resources (FAO)  Assistance provided to Guyana, Dominica and Haiti to prepare proposals for GCF (FAO)  CCORAL Tool training – 2 countries (Grenada and St Kitts fully adopted) (5Cs, CRFM) Institutional Strengthening
  8. 8.  Webinars on climate smart agriculture held (IICA)  Caribbean Agro meteorology Society launched and first training webinar held (CIMH)  Caribbean Risk Information System portal set up and available on CDEMA website (CDEMA, CIMH)  Widening of data network through increased meteorological stations (CIMH) Increased and sustained knowledge management
  9. 9.  ADRM plans completed for 3 countries and being implemented (FAO)  Quarterly precipitation outlook and drought monitoring (CIMH)  National drought management plans in 4 OECS countries (CIMH) Improved integration of DRM into the agriculture sector

Strengthened Community Resilience EARLY WARNING SYSTEMS  Project initiated on setting up ICT based early warning system for fisheries sector in Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines (CRFM) CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE  Building resilient agriculture systems in various countries including Haiti (FAO)
