A Perfect Pitch Deck
Seeking Sponsors? Read This First.
1. Format Matters.
Powerpoints = Bad.
PDFs = Good.
Links to deck online = Better
2. Include the following things.
Organization or conference logo.
Website.
Contact information.
Social media profiles.
3. Do your homework.
Research the companies or groups you are
approaching.
Whenever possible, send to a real person.
4. Pretend you know nothing
about your conference.
Why is it happening? Where is it happening?
What are the dates? Who is coming? Who are
your speakers? Why should you be considered
credible?

5. Share details about attendees.
How many people are you expecting? Age?
Location? Income level? Interests? Drill down.
This information is valuable to potential
sponsors!
6. Include photos.
If this event happened before, include photos!
7. Include quotes.
If this event happened before, include quotes
from past attendees and sponsors.
8. Highlight numbers.
If this event happened before, include notable
numbers (attendees, speakers, social media
reach, etc).
9. Include a glossary.
Include a glossary or a bulleted list of terms/
facts that will be helpful for potential sponsors
to know.
10. Create a separate deck for
each level of sponsorship.
Determine which level you’re asking for, and only
send your prospect that version.
11. Offer category or level
exclusivity.
Make it clear that there can only be ONE Silver
Level Sponsor, or ONE Breakfast Sponsor.
12. Include tickets/hospitality to
each sponsorship level.
Comped registration or inclusion in a special
sponsors dinner are great ideas to start with.
Don’t just offer to put their logo in your
marketing!
13. Consider year long benefits.
Think about the big picture! What other benefits
are there? Marketing? Hospitality? On-site? Year
round?
14. Keep it short and sweet.
Do the opposite of this deck (a 20 page pitch
deck is for the birds!) and keep things clear and
concise.
15. Be humble.
End with a thank you! And then your contact
information. And then how/when you’ll follow up.

Seeking Event Sponsors? Learn How to Craft the Perfect Pitch Deck

  • 1. A Perfect Pitch Deck Seeking Sponsors? Read This First.
  • 2. 1. Format Matters. Powerpoints = Bad. PDFs = Good. Links to deck online = Better
  • 3. 2. Include the following things. Organization or conference logo. Website. Contact information. Social media profiles.
  • 4. 3. Do your homework. Research the companies or groups you are approaching. Whenever possible, send to a real person.
  • 5. 4. Pretend you know nothing about your conference. Why is it happening? Where is it happening? What are the dates? Who is coming? Who are your speakers? Why should you be considered credible?

  • 7. 5. Share details about attendees. How many people are you expecting? Age? Location? Income level? Interests? Drill down. This information is valuable to potential sponsors!
  • 8. 6. Include photos. If this event happened before, include photos!
  • 9. 7. Include quotes. If this event happened before, include quotes from past attendees and sponsors.
  • 10. 8. Highlight numbers. If this event happened before, include notable numbers (attendees, speakers, social media reach, etc).
  • 11. 9. Include a glossary. Include a glossary or a bulleted list of terms/ facts that will be helpful for potential sponsors to know.
  • 12. 10. Create a separate deck for each level of sponsorship. Determine which level you’re asking for, and only send your prospect that version.
  • 13. 11. Offer category or level exclusivity. Make it clear that there can only be ONE Silver Level Sponsor, or ONE Breakfast Sponsor.
  • 14. 12. Include tickets/hospitality to each sponsorship level. Comped registration or inclusion in a special sponsors dinner are great ideas to start with. Don’t just offer to put their logo in your marketing!
  • 15. 13. Consider year long benefits. Think about the big picture! What other benefits are there? Marketing? Hospitality? On-site? Year round?
  • 16. 14. Keep it short and sweet. Do the opposite of this deck (a 20 page pitch deck is for the birds!) and keep things clear and concise.
  • 17. 15. Be humble. End with a thank you! And then your contact information. And then how/when you’ll follow up. Good luck!
