1. ANDRE PRETORIUS
The title of this book is fitting for so many reasons but the main one being that
this author, my coach, mentor and friend, Eugene Loffie Eloff, lives his life like
that. Whatever he does, he does with passion and enriches lives as he moves
along. He is the reason I got to live my dreambecause he was willing to give
me a chance, knowing he has the ability to get the best out of me. I am one of
numerous players that are grateful for Loffie's committed involvement in our
lives and not justas a coach but as a true friend.
The successes hehas had, has been with teams of all ages. He is loved by all
the teams he has coached and after every tour,
Loffie will leave with 2 or 3 new best friends fromthat country. He is the
epitome of a true rugbyman. Henever put his own ambitions before that of his
team. Win or lose, his players were always his priority and he always took
responsibility when things weren't going our way. He loves the game of rugby
and still today he would help teams, players and even coaches (that wanted his
job), expecting nothing in return.
I could keep going for much longer but he is going to haveto shorten his book
and we all know that's not going to happen. To this selfless, loyaland
inspirational person .....EugeneLoffieEloff..... I would like to thank you for
teaching me that rugby will never define me. Your life lessons arewith me
everyday and I know with a whole lot of other people too.
2. Hopefully someday I get to coach with you Coachie and even if I don't, may you
see your work through the way that I coach.
