2. Kristin Armstrong was born in
1973 in a military family, her
father in fact was an officer in
the Marines.
Prior to her professional
cycling career, when she was 17
years old, she had became a
Junior Olympian in the
swimming. She was also a
triathlete and she competed in
the Hawaii Ironman World

Her career in the triathlon
ended when it was
diagnosed a osteoarthritis,
that causes a degeneration
and deformation of all joints.
However her sport career
continued, she couldn’t run
anymore, but she could
cycle. The cycling was
considered for her the best
therapy for her disease.
So she won two gold
Olympic medal in the cycling
road, in Beijing 2008 and
recently in London 2012. The
Summer Olympic games of
London 2012 - she
announced in 2010 - were the

bachelor's
degree from Unive
rsity of Idaho in
