For the position of drilling consultant or engineer.

Work History
5/2011 – Present Petroleum Engineer
Sandridge Energy Oklahoma City, OK USA
I am responsible for engineering operations up to four drilling rigs at any one given time and
over 100 wells in the past two years. Wells drilled include vertical, salt water disposal,
horizontal, extended lateral, dual co-planar design and full-section development (FSD) three-
legged design. Formations drilled include the Mississippi Limestone, Manning, Chester,
Meramec and Arbuckle located in Kansas and Oklahoma, USA. Directional tools used include
conventional motor, rotary steerable design, MWD tools and LWD tools. Mud programs used
include both water-base mud and oil-base mud. Work schedule consists of both office and field
time based on current project needs.
Emphasis has been placed on rig operations where I sit on the rig and supervise rig crews to
include company man, tool pusher, directional drillers, mud engineers, mud loggers, rig hands,
welders, nipple-up operations, casing operations, thread reps, cementing operations, logging
crews, tubular inspection crews and rig moving operations.
Colorado New Ventures Project 2016 - Present
Sandridge Energy has recently acquired a large lease in the North Park Basin with the intention
of drilling multiple horizontal wells in the Niobrara formation. I have been tasked to pre-set 12
surface holes located on three pads staked to drill on 15’ skids to a depth of 2,400’. The curve
and horizontal portion of the wells will be drilled at a later time as we approach the winter
months. Tasks include:
 Located and vetted 18 drilling contractors with the intention of hiring one contractor to
drill all 12 wells
 Narrowed list down to five contractors, obtaining five bids and awarded the project to
one contractor
 Directional tools used to counteract bit walking and prevent anti-collision issues on the
15’ skids
 Create plan on logistics of efficient rig skid, solids disposal and SIMOPS (simultaneous
operations) with the facilities and production teams

Chester/Manning New Ventures Project 2015 – Present
My team drilled a pilot hole to 9,348’ TVD and ran logs to determine viability of this program in
a geographic area with no offset well information. A total of eight horizontal wells were drilled
to depths as much as 16,695’ MD into the Manning A and B, Chester A, C and D formations.
 Determine and adjust build rates and curve designs based on lithology, depth of target
and the use of various curve tools to include exciters and thrusters
 Modify hole cleaning practices due to sensitive fractured shale beds with respect to pump
rates, back-reaming, clean-up cycles, wiper trips and mud properties
 Using LWD tools in the lateral section to identify shales by low resistivity and high
azimuthal gamma ray therefore increasing percentage of lateral drilled in zone
 Communicate with the geo-steering department on a daily basis making repeated target
changes and adjusting drilling parameters to stay on target and in zone
 Minimize loss of returns by means of adjusting drilling parameters, modifying solids
control equipment and enhancing mud properties
 Substitute water-base mud for oil-base mud in the vertical, curve and lateral sections
which increased directional drilling performance, decreased torque and drag and proved
easier to run casing and liners to bottom
 Run cemented liners and open-hole packer/sliding sleeve liners in lateral wellbore
 Use Landmark StressCheck software to build new longstring casing designs. New casing
used was TMK 5-1/2” 20 lb. P-110 BPN (modified buttress connection)
 Use foamed (nitrified) cement to minimize hydrostatic pressure and increase ductility and
tensile strength of cement sheath to prevent losses while cementing and ensure maximum
completion performance
Drilling Data Enhancement Project 2015 - Present
Ongoing goal is to ensure drilling/completions data entered, stored and analyzed in Peloton
Wellview program is accurate, complete and easy to use for the field consultants for the entire
drilling rig fleet.
 Created “rules” and applied them to Wellview in an audit program to be run daily by field
consultants. Inadequate or inaccurate data entry will result in a red flag
 Create electronic “tutorials” with step-by-step instructions on completing daily reports
such as: drilling report, wellbore-hole sections, casing & cement, BHA and daily cost
reports and more
Harper County Kansas Single Lateral/Extended Lateral Project 2015
Increase lateral completion length of Kansas Mississippi Limestone wells from 4,000’ to 9,600’
per single lateral well by drilling the span of two sections. Challenges and accomplishments
include:
 Use backbuild directional design to increase lateral completion length by as much as 500’
 Estimate torque & drag using Landmark Wellplan software and documenting real time
torque & drag for modeling purposes
 Overcome torque & drag limitations through use of agitators, exciters, thrusters and more
frequent clean-up cycles and short trips to clean the lateral hole
 Time from spud-set 7” intermediate casing on the LeForce 3408 1-11H2 holds the
Kansas record at 4.78 days
 Time from spud-TD (9,174’ MD) on the Roberts 3408 1-16H single lateral well is a
Kansas record at 7.0 days (includes two casing strings run and cemented)
 Drilled two single lateral wells under $1 million dollars drilling cost per well, meriting
the “Done Dirt Cheap” award twice
Multi-Lateral Full Section Development (FSD) Project 2014 - 2015
Create well plan in which will allow completion of one full section (640 acres) by means of one
pad site and one intermediate hole section (three lateral legs).
 Total hole drilled was 20,560’ with total lateral length to complete at 14,790’
 Backbuild/kick-out directional plan increased completion length per lateral up to 200’
 Legs two and three drilled using conventional open-hole sidetrack method
 All legs received open-hole sliding sleeve completion liners, ran with TSHP tubing and
was removed by means of chemical cuts
 Cost savings due to only one surface and intermediate hole, one electronic submersible
pump and one pad/facility on surface
Field Engineer/Company Man 2013 - 2014
Supervise daily rig operations, communicate with corporate staff, guide rig crews to practice
proactive safety culture, lead the charge on maintaining high moral at the rig and guide the crew
to accomplish drilling results that exceeded set goals.
 Conduct daily safety meetings and JSA meetings on specific operations
 Conduct regularly scheduled well control and Hydrogen Sulfide drills
 Establish team and individual goals and follow-up regularly
 Select equipment such as bits, reamers, thrusters, agitators and exciters to gain the best
drilling performance possible
 Closely monitor mud properties to ensure drilling performance is maximized and adverse
hole conditions are prevented
 Prepare casing/liner tallies and cement procedures
 Supervise casing runs, cement operations, sidetracks
Field Engineer Intern 2011 - 2013
