Activity III. My Reflections/Insight
Based on the teacher’s program and your observations, answer the following:
1. Would you consider teaching as full time job? Why? Why not? List down factors
that make it a full time job.
Well, I think yes. I would consider to be a full time teacher, because of the following
reasons:
 It is grounding and humbling profession which offers you a chance of
continuously getting better.
 It has its ups and downs but on the whole it's fulfilling when you help children
to leave school with decent grades and know they have a future.
 The kids’ energies; their inquisitiveness makes inspires teaching them and
pushing them harder. And sometimes these Kids are real fun.
 It offers job security. Even in times of economic struggle when other industries
cut back, teachers will always be needed.
 This profession can give “A lot of family time”. I mean good count of vacations
are there.
 It keeps you on your toes as you will never feel bored while daily dealing with
new challenges.
 It makes you an expert at behavior management and time management.
 Teachers witness daily “lightbulb” moments when students finally understand
and master a skill. So everyday they make a difference in the lives of their
students.
 And most important, that teacher is always respected and why not after all it is
a Noble profession.
2. Are the conditions in the classroom conductive to the welfare of both the learners
and teacher? How will you improve on it
Based on the learning environment of the school, yes somehow it was conducive
for learning. You can’t hear noises outside because of its window glass. And also,
the room are well-ventilated because it is air-conditioned. If I am going to improve
it, I would like to repaint the walls with a great finished.
3. After closely observing the teacher in the school setting, are you motivated to
continue on becoming teacher? What in the teacher’s practices inspire you to
become a professional teacher?
Yes, I would love to. I’m a bit nervous and excited when I think about it. Maybe I
was inspired to continue on becoming a teacher because it is fulfilling and fun. It
was inspiring especially when they already know how to discipline the students in
a healthy way.
4. How can I improve the school setting that I have observed when I become a
teacher?
Physical Setting
1. Classroom Arrangement
 Should provide a clear line of sight for each student to instruction.
 Create a clear line of sight for you to the students.
 Arrange seating so that both you and the students can move through the
room with ease.
2. Bulletin Board Display
 It should be with finished edge.
 It must be fixed on the wall to prevent accidents.
 It must be colorful and attractive.
 Have at least a unified theme for clarity.
 Avoid overcrowded display.
3. School ground
 Should provide ample space for meeting points where students can come
together, converse and engage with one other.
4. Learning Resource Center
 Its attractiveness to the students. A lot of pictures are posted on the walls,
which by themselves, serve as learning materials to the students. The
ICT resources should be properly maintained as well.
5. How do you feel about the teachers’ workplace? Are the conditions healthy for the
welfare of both learners and teachers?
Yes, for the reason that it is located at the left side corner at the back where you
can see clearly what the students are up to, with thorough observation the
condition are both conducive to the learners and teachers.
6. Do you find the relationships between learners and teachers pleasant? Explain
your answer.
I can see that the relationship between the learners and the teachers are pleasant
somehow, all of them clearly respect their teachers. Based on observation, they
build a connection and bond to each other where they are having a joke and
serious time. But, there are students who are silly, and hardheaded but it can be
control.
Activity IV. My Affirmed Concepts
What previous learning or concepts that you have gained in your professional
education courses are affirmed by this learning episode?
AS A TEACHER…
 I have learned that you
can’t win every student, it
is accepted already.
 There are five kinds of
student...
A – Students who love the
subject already
B – Students who don’t
love the subject, but will
discover it with your help
C – Students who don’t
love the subject and never
will, but want to pass it
D – Students who don’t
love the subject, but will
suddenly care at the last
minute.
E – Students who don’t
love the subject, never will
and genuinely don’t care if
they pass.
 They're people too...not
exam machines
TO BE AN EFFECTIVE
TEACHER
 Positive. Keep your
students engaged with a
positive attitude
 Prepared. You should
know the course material.
 Organized. Have a plan for
what you want to teach
 Clear. Effective
teachers can explain
complex ideas in simple
ways
 Active. Keep your students
thinking
 Fair
 Technology Tip
