We invite you to join Samford families around the world in praying for
the university through the month.We are blessed by your prayers as we
strive to exemplify and promote the Christian mission on and off our
campus.
1. Samford University: to follow Christ’s example and to remain true to its
mission to nurture students “for God, for learning, forever.”
2. Sudents: that each grows in knowledge, faith, and wisdom.
3. Student Leaders: that their skills and leadership grow and glorify God as
they serve their fellow students and their campus.
4. International Students and Missionary Kids: that they find a home
on our campus, thrive in this new culture, and develop lasting friendships.
5. Faculty: that they teach, research, and write with a passion for learning,
and that they impart wisdom and encouragement to their students.
6. Vice Presidents and Deans: that they may be good stewards of time,
talents, and energy as they manage the affairs of the university, strengthen
the campus, and administer policies and programs.
7. University Staff: that they offer students encouragement in abundance
and find strength in the challenges their work brings.
8. Residence Life: that the residence life coordinators, resident managers,
resident assistants, and spiritual life assistants have wisdom to understand
and to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the students
in the residence halls.
9. University Ministers and the Office of Spiritual Life: that the
ministers and staff lead and mentor with wisdom and sensitivity and design
corporate worship and spiritual events to nurture the faith of students.
10. Home Groups: that student facilitators gain wisdom and discernment
as they lead, the groups to grow in Christ, and the homes of Samford
faculty members hosting home groups be blessed.
11. Guest Campus Ministry Organizations: that the leaders focus on
promoting Christian community, spiritual growth, and a commitment to
global missions and that students respond with a desire to worship and
learn.
12. Office of Campus Life: that the staff effectively promote community on
campus and find creative and healthy ways to bring joy and help relieve
stress for students.
13. Campus Counseling Services: that the counselors help students find
peace and solutions to life difficulties and that students in need have the
courage to ask for help.
14. AthleticTeams: that they grow spiritually through their sports, be
honorable in their actions, and be protected in their travel, preparation,
and participation.
15. School of the Arts Performing Ensembles: that their talents and
abilities glorify God and bring audiences joy as they use their gifts to
perform locally, nationally, and internationally.
16. Publications: that the school newspaper, student magazines, the annual
yearbook, and other media productions communicate with integrity and
honorably represent the university.
17. Samford Student Organizations: that the opportunities for students to
find and utilize their passions be plentiful, productive, and honoring to God.
18. Campus Facilities: that those who study, play, work, and worship in the
campus facilities be good stewards of and be blessed by the use of the
buildings and the grounds.
19. Global Mission Programs: for students embarking to share the gospel
around the world, for their leaders, and for the journey of sharing the love
of Christ beyond the campus.
20. Graduate Programs: that the graduate students sharing Samford’s campus
be well equipped for their careers and find endurance and wisdom as they
further their education.
21. Family Life: that the relationships between students and their families
develop and deepen as students enter adulthood.
22. Fellow Parents: that God will richly satisfy, renew, and give wisdom to all
parents as they enter and navigate a new season of family life.
23. Student Financial Needs: that families and financial aid specialists work
together to find the resources needed for students to manage wisely the
financial aspects of college life.
24. Samford Admission Office: for the counselors who travel across the
country and the families they work with to make decisions about the future.
25. Young Alumni: that recent graduates be encouraged by the faithfulness of
God and their education from Samford as they look for employment and
make early adulthood decisions.
26. Samford Alumni: for the thousands of Samford graduates who represent
our university and share the gospel in their communities and professions
around the world.
27. Board ofTrustees: for wisdom, discernment, and insight as they determine
policy, make decisions, and provide direction for the university.
28. President AndrewWestmoreland: for health, wisdom, and spiritual
encouragement as he leads and represents Samford University.
29. Samford’s Global Commitment: to have a global reach both educationally
and missionally.
30. Efforts to Deepen Diversity: that Samford continue to foster ethnic,
