Key Dates
All work should be completed and ready for moderation and exhibition by the set deadline date.
Where students are causing concern and assessment indicates underachievement concerns will be completed via Sims and intervention systems begun. In extreme cases
parents will be contacted and referrals will be made to the Head of Year for intervention steps, mentoring and eventually withdrawal

ASSESSMENT
Students’ books will be continually assessed by teachers and self/peer reflective comments.
Common assessment summary forms will be completed by the teacher and attached to books.
Pages will be annotated and targets for improvement set.
Each student will be seen weekly by one or both teachers to be given one-to-one support;
students can request further one –to one tutorial support if it is needed and there are lunchtime catch-up or support sessions student are able to drop-in to
HOMEWORK
Will be set every week to support learning and evidence in class, students are responsible for ensuring it is completed. WG11 can be used at lunchtimes to do the homework.
EVIDENCE AND ASSESSMENT
All work is entered for assessment – the work journals represent 70% of the final mark All work must be evidenced in sketchbooks, online or on disk PLUS in a final display
book/ exhibition
EVERY UNIT IS CONTROLLED ASSESSMENT AND COUNTS FOR BETWEEN 10 AND 12 HOURS OF STUDY OUT OF A MAXIMUM 45 HOURS

Students will be asked to make a contribution to the high cost of materials and processes; the department will provide consumables and access to borrowing cameras.

Assignment 5 is to produce original work
showing influence by the studies artists
and can earn an A* grade
A teacher blog helps and guides you through the unit: you work in school and
from home
Students who complete assignment 5 well attain an A or B grade for the unit

For this unit students explore the
commercial roles of the photographer.
Different activities have included:
•Fashion photography
•Advertising
•Music promotion
•Calendar design and production

Unit 5 independent study:
In year 11 students undertake a project where they plan, organise
and work individually; it is a chance to revisit favourite topics or try
new ones. Current Y11 student projects include:

•Designing a package for a local band
•A fashion layout for a magazine
•Working in the studio
•Dance photography
•An animation sequence
•Architectural photography
•A photo-storyboard for a music magazine
