An Inconvenient Truth
(A Reaction Paper)
An Inconvenient Truth is a 2006 documentary film directed by Davis. This was a
documentary made by the former USA vice president Al Gore.
This Film in someway, serves as a stimuli…a bona fide wake up dub for every
watcher. It serves as an instrument of public education and talks about the problem of
global warming in the earth and inspires people to take action to save the earth.
On the other hand, this documentary gave me profound thoughts on what global
warming really is all about and it portrayed what our Mother Earth experiences right at
this very moment. It made me say “God!”. Seeing those ice caps and glaciers melting,
while the islands are gradually disappearing. Too sad.
As he illustrates pictures and plays videos of the earths present situation and also
shows up-to-date data and statistical records, which is also compared by figures in our
previous times to show us the degree of damage we have done to our planet earth.
Serving as a revelation, wherein, former vice president Al Gore affirmed the causes and
the potential effects of global climate change, He showed diagrams and films which are
very distasteful to my naive eyes. It was stated that the Earth’s temperature is greater than
ever because of the enlarge quantity of Carbon Dioxide year on year.
Because when the amount of Carbon Dioxide increases, production of greenhouse
gases may take place, which will shut in the sun’s heat in the earth’s atmosphere, as a
result making the Planet hot. It was also stated that the exploit of newer technologies that
produces dangerous substances can encompass a huge upshot on our atmosphere. And by
just observing the News lately few streets, local or national, typhoons are everywhere.
Observing the junks on sidewalks, citizens burning tires, and some cars that produce
black smokes, I felt so mortified. How on earth can we get to the bottom of these
troubles? How can we make look after Earth?
Other nations are trying to do something about global warming. Most national
governments have signed and ratified the so called Kyoto Protocol. Wherein The Kyoto
Protocol is an adjustment to the international treaty on climate change, assigning
mandatory emission limitations for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to the
signatory nations. The objective of the protocol is the stabilization of greenhouse gas
concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic
interference with the climate system. Unfortunately, United States did not authorize the
Kyoto Protocol even if they are the country with the highest production or emission of
Carbon Dioxide. It is just too distressing that some US officials are ignoring and
neglecting the global warming issues for the sake of progress.
Afterward, I had become conscious of few simple things that could help save
mother earth. I can plant trees, flowers, even tell my Grandmother to reduce the use of air
conditioner, and avoid burning plastics. Although they are not that Huge, but maybe
some day, it can factually come in gigantic parcels.
Because, I believe that “Unless someone like me and you cares a whole awful lot,
nothing is going to get better, its not.”.
