How to use best practice b2b branding, communications
Duke Energy Client Recommendation (1)
1. October 1, 2014
Hiring executive,
Don’t miss your opportunity to consider and employ one of the best all-around marketing communication managers that I have had the pleasure to work with – Ed McClure. What a gem of a professional.
Ed McClure builds upon a university education in marketing and marketing communications. He brings nearly a decade of applied experience and skills in all those functions with commercial enterprises. I saw the evidence of his versatile analytical, creative and managerial qualifications over a year that he worked with me as the Marketing Manager with Duke Energy consumer products and programs. He was on my team as we developed and executed several very successful technology-based energy efficiency programs the generated $10-million in earnings for the organization. He was hired to come in, help analyze and measure market opportunities, formulate targeted business and marketing plans, help create effective marketing initiatives -- large and small. Ed helped guide the CorpCom team and an outside marketing agency in the development of website landing pages, micro-websites, direct mail pieces and campaigns, HTML email creative and campaigns, sales collateral development and production, search engine optimization, print and radio advertising, and any other media needed to drive a half dozen programs simultaneously. Together we worked on programs that successfully drove business growth and profitability. So versatile was he, that he even proved to be a capable communication copy writer and digital graphic designer. What can’t this man do?
Ed is a critical thinker and problem-solver, who works fast, juggles multiple priorities, makes it all look easy, and does it with that cool, calm demeanor, engaging smile, professional appearance, articulate communication skills, and giant brain power. He helped me manage and transform a bunch of lack-luster marketing programs into some modest and big successes. His clients and colleagues quickly come to respect and enjoy him, both as a capable professional, and because he is a passionate, intelligent, and earnest hard worker. He made my programs sparkle!
I observed Ed’s adaptable skills, organizational methods, and keen creativity. He works proactively to measure the results or return-on-investment of each initiative to justify “repeats” or improvements. Nobody has to push him along. He’s self-motivated. He’s a methodical professional.
Who am I to say so? I too am a degreed marketing professional that have hired, coached, and successfully directed large teams of product-, marketing-, research-, and communications professionals that grew B2B and B2C companies or product lines that are household names that include Honeywell™, St.Gobain™, Duke Energy™, NordicTrack™, and Fiat™. I am coasting into retirement one day soon, but it was so refreshing to watch a creative and PASSIONATE marketing and management professional – Ed, succeed at nearly everything he touched of my programs and products at Duke Energy.
What are you waiting for? Review Mr. McClure’s impressive qualifications. Ask this humble man to recount some of his impressive, successful programs, academic and business accomplishments. Pull it out of him. He’ll make it sound like he was just a contributor, but he is a sometimes quiet, but a very prolific doer, thinker, and confident leader of others. You need this gem on YOUR TEAM or to lead a part of your team.
Why isn’t Ed with Duke Energy? He was a contract employee brought in to get things done with no job guarantee. He did good things. Shame there was not permanent position for Ed. Our loss – your gain.
Call me if you have any questions!
Sincerely,
John Dreibelbis
