- Using smart phones and mobile devices to monitor plant health using photo recognition to identify species, plant health, disease and insect damage. This large database will be used by farm, garden and landscape technologists.
- Farm inspection and professional farm garden services related to plant health cost farm and gardens $50 Billion per year. Most farm and garden professionals a stretched to their limits and lack time to provide knowledge and experience to the unsophisticated operator. Many workers are in the field with damage but fail to detect or recognize deficiencies or problems. Late discovery of disease and insect damage quickly escalate the cost and decrease the overall value and yield of crops, ultimately leading to poor agronomics.
- PlantID3 has a platform solution that will integrate smart sensors, photo recognition and advanced chip solutions to provide farm and garden operators professional services that will enhance the on farm production. With the snap of a couple quick pictures PlantID3 will identify the species and associated data from plant health to diagnosis. This offering will begin to deconstruct the cost of application by future partnerships with drone and farm amendments, such as climate conditions, forecast
- The current farm and garden landscape breaks down into three primary sections; Small Farm, Large Farm and Garden/Landscape. Each segment has primary needs such as fertilizer and crop protection which yield an estimate farm gate cost in North America at $250 Billion.

Leafsnap has had some great progression toward species identification, with an open source database of the 250 species they have on file. We have recently recruited one of the lead developers from this project and now he is working with us at PlantID3. Yara is a world leading fertilizer manufacturer that offers customers photo comparison of nutrient deficiencies for 20 common crops.
- In the long run, PlantID3 will build the world’s leading database in photo recognition used in areas from robotics, drones, food processing and equipment. Advanced data will quickly become a tools to enhance seed development, crop health balance and predictive analytics.
