Dumantay Elementary School in Batangas City, Philippines held a virtual kick-off ceremony for Brigada Eskwela 2021. Brigada Eskwela is an annual program led by the Department of Education to prepare schools for the opening of the academic year. The virtual ceremony included messages from the school head, district supervisor, and barangay captain expressing support. It also featured presentations on the Brigada Eskwela theme and programs. The ceremony aimed to discuss preparations for the 2021-2022 school year and support parents in the enrollment process amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

BRIGADA ESKWELA ‘21
VIRTUAL KICK-OFF CEREMONY
Brigada Eskwela is a yearly program of Department of Education that aims to
bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time,
effort snd resources to prepare public schools facilities for the opening school year.
There are benefits that come with Brigada Eskwela, it saves resources on the
part of the school, it builds oneness and cooperation to all stakeholders were their
camaraderie among them develops, the learning of the students is ensured, the
cleanliness of the facilities becomes pleasing and the environment is safe for the
learners.
Last year and this year’s Brigada Eskwela is very much different compared to
the Birgada for the past years due to the continuous effect of Covid-19 virus that
infected the whole world and sadly our country is greatly affected by this pandemic.
"The slogan of Brigada Eskwela, Bayanihan para sa Paaralan shall be
adopted as the theme for this year to emphasize the country's collective efforts in
promoting collaboration for safe living and addressing social issues and concerns in
schools, at homes and in the community."
Dumantay Elementary School conducted a virtual kick-off ceremony to take
part in the celebration of BRIGADA ESKWELA 2021 led by Mr. Melvin C. Enriquez
who served as the virtual ceremony manager and the Brigada Eskwela coordinator.
The virtual ceremony was held using google meet 16th day of August 2021. All
teachers were present and joined in the said virtual ceremony. The Barangay
Captain, together with the Barangay councilors, were also present. There were also

some parents who joined the virtual kick-off. The virtual ceremony served as a
platform to discuss Bridaga Eskwela 2021 in dealing with the learning and teaching
needs in school year 2021-2022, and provide practical knowledge and routine
forward to help parents in the enrollment process. The entire virtual ceremony was
delivered by the two masters of ceremony who were the resident teachers of the
school, Teacher Susie and Teacher Celeste of Grade 1.
To formally begin the program, it started with the audiovisual presentation
prayer prepared by Mrs. Lerma Ilag, a Grade 6 teacher, and followed by the
audiovisual presentation of National Anthem, CALABARZON March Hymn,
Batangas City Hymn and EBD Magkatuwang Tayo theme song. As for the opening
remarks, Mrs. Ebella D. Bagui, the school head, humbly delivered her speech and
discussed the Division Memorandum No. 259, S. 2021. Next was the message of the
Public Division District Six Supervisor,Dr. Edelyn B. Briones. It was followed by the
discussion of Programs and Projects which was remarkably delivered by Maricris M.
Brucal, the Brigada Eskwela Program Coordinator.
For the message of support, the Barangay Captain, Hon. Lucila G. De
Ocampo expressed her unending support to the school administration, its
stakeholders and its mission, especially in the Brigada Eskwela, and all the activities
to be done by the school. Because of the good leadership of the Barangay Captain,
Barangay Councilors also express their support to the school and are all ready to
extend their hands to help the school in all possible ways. Truly, hand in hand,
toward the school’s success.
To end the program, Mrs. Ronilyn A. Dimaapi, partake his closing remarks, which
summarizes the virtual cermony. She thanked everyone for their support and the
success of the program.
