• 1980 -2000 Zimbabwe was one of the richest countries and strongest economy in africa with 1
zim dollar = 1us dollar
• in 2000 conflict between zimbabwe and (Britain , America and EU started ) OVER LAND
OWNERSHIP
• Our government started land reform programme in 2000 of giving land to the landless and
majority people of zimbabwe
• 5% of population the British farmers owed 80 percent of the land in zimbabwe
• so our government sorted to resolve this by land redistribution meaning taking land that is not
being used by the british farmers
• Zimbabwe was put under illegal Economic Sanctions up to date .
• this killed the economy of zimbabwe and destroyed our local currency
