What is Stimulus?
An action or condition that accelerates or
rouses to physiological or psychological
action, activity or responses.
Encouraging, triggering, sparking or
provoking
Variation
 Changing such stimuli or action to explain
something in live and cheerful way.
 It is to avoid boredom from the teaching.
Stimulus Variation
 Stimulus Variation means certain behaviours
used by the teacher in order to sustain and
secure students’ attention in class
Its Importance / Need
 To enhance active involvement of students in classroom
 To enhance understanding on students’ side
 To enhance liveliness in classroom teaching
 To grab the attention of students
 To minimize boredom in class
 To make students understand the topic effectively
 To Motivate students to learn
Important Things
 Movement, changing the position
 Gesture, changing the non-verbal signals
 Changing speech pattern and interaction style
 Focusing, pausing
 Oral to Visual and Visual to Oral
