To Perform a QFD analysis for the product:
Blue Ray CD-Player: Group 8
3. Quality Function Deployment (QFD):
Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a systematic and a critical approach to design
based on a close awareness of customer needs and expectations. These needs will be
translated into technical characteristics: Design, Verification, and Production. Ultimately,
these technical characteristics will be utilized to highlight customer needs.
Technically, QFD mainly is implemented to improve the customer communication,
specification that correlated to customers’ needs to determine and allocate the resources
accurately. The completions of the QFD analysis will be presented throughout the House
of Quality.
House of Quality:
The QFD analysis for this project will be performed on the Blue Ray CD-Player. The
house of quality will be used to gauge specifically to identify the relationship assessment
for each customer needs vs. each requirements level.
Product Planning Phase:
On this phase, the house of quality will be utilized after gathering the customers’ needs
and expectations to be translated into specified technical characteristics. The product
planning phase has ten Tasks which will be on the following:
Task 1: Identify Customer Needs:
The following criteria are mostly suit the customer needs for a Blue Ray CD-Player:

2. Portable (Dimension & Weight)
3. Reliability
4. Wi-Fi Connection(also browser to surf Apps:Netflix,Pandora)

6. Able to Convert 2D to 3D.
7. Motion Control Remote
8. Bookmarking and Resume: A Feature to bookmark a specific scene,
option available for multiple discs, Resume: A Feature to resume the disc
where it is stopped, option available to multiple discs.

10. DLNA ( Digital Living Network Alliance)
11. Customer Service & warranty.

equipment. We had analyzed by far more entertainment options, on better picture and
sound quality and overall the ability to have the ultimate movie experience by three
different products A.)LG BP series B.) Panasonic BDP series and C.)Sony BDP series.

The listed technical characteristics of a Blue Ray CD-Player have been chosen based on the
technical components that can be measurable and controllable and directly affect the customer
needs. The technical characteristicsof Blue Ray CD-Player are as follows:
