2. My Awesome Cat Oddi Oddi ,Iain ,Me and my Dad Oddi is 10 weeks old and I got him on the way back from New Plymouth in the holidays. I got the name Oddi cause his brother looked like Garfield and I naturally thought of Oddie but my mum asked me what am I going to call him and also how am I going to spell it so I said Oddi .Now I spelt it like that because My name is Cindi and it ends in a di, So now that is how I am going to spell his name ODDI. Oddi was 6 weeks when I got him and there were 3 other kittens there that I would of like to take home as well but I wasn’t allowed .The ride home was great fun ,Oddi was so playful ,he was trying to get to the 2 fish Iain my brother got .A while later Oddi was fast asleep on my pillow (What a stealer he is, on the first day)My mum kept saying to me “That is good keep him asleep so he doesn’t go toilet ” “Ok ,ok mum” ,Oddi woke up a few minutes later and looked out the window and he must of seen the White lines on the road and his head was going back and forward ,back and forward .After the ride was done I got Oddi, dad was there to meet him ,Dad picked him up and sat him in his hand and Oddi wasn’t even has big a his hand not even mine. So now I have had him for 4 weeks so many good times, He is so fat (Well almost)and so playful you can be reading the newspaper and he is there in 2 seconds. You could even be there resting with your hand out and bang he has jumped on it. I can’t wait till he is older .Oddi is the Coolest thing that has happen to me in my life. By Cindi
3. My Friend Staunch Hi my name is Rhiannon, I have a 7 month old dog called Staunch, but I call him Pork Chop because he has a stomach the size of a house. Staunch and I do everything together, we have races around the backyard, But of course Staunch always wins. When I get home from school, Staunch will be waiting for me at the gate. Sometimes when I go outside Staunch will be asleep on his bed, so I will cover him up with a blanket. When it is tea time Staunch will bring his food bowl to the door and wait for me to come out. Staunch is my best friend and I`m happy to have him live with us. By Rhiannon
4. My Pet Rexy My name is Jameel when I was little I had a dog named Rexy he used to love chasing people around and tackling them over. Every time I use to come outside he used to quickly run at me and tackle me over and start licking me. He loved running every time we go out for a walk we take him. Rexy was a fit dog every time he uses to run it was exercise for him. Rexy lived in our backyard he had his own little house to sleep in. It had everything he needed including his water bowl and food bowl. Both of his water and food bowl was full 24/7 so whenever he was thirsty he would take a drink and whenever he was hungry he would have his food. I loved him a lot sometimes I use to let him roam around in the house for a while and if it was raining I would play with him in the garage our family loved him heaps he was and always will be part of our family. Once my dog Rexy had an injury on hit foot me and my dad took him over to the vet so they could fix Rexy’s leg he stayed there for the night and came back in the afternoon. He was a bit quiet so I decided to let him inside for the night. By Jameel
5. MY tricky dog As soon as I got there, I went straight at him but he didn’t know me he didn’t even look at me. But then he walks towards me as if he wants to know me as if he doesn’t know me anymore. “Hey he doesn’t know you anymore Ken,” my dad responded “It’s been 3 ½ years since I went to New Zealand,” I said to him laughing. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and I took a photo of him, “hey see that mean trick he did” my cousin whispered to my ear. He rolled 3x then sat there wagging his wildly “I wonder if he could do more tricks a a a,” he said to me and hitting his shoulder agents me. After a while we watch him playing happily on the sand. Then suddenly the darkness took over and it’s time to sleep. By Ken
6. My dogs last days. The bone swiftly glided through the air as the tears slowly dripped down my face and fell on to the dry concrete. She leaped up as if defying gravity and clenched the meaty bone with her mouth. As she trotted one step at a time I was sure she gave me a wink. A smile drew across her face, Why was she smiling she had nothing to smile about? Then as I raised my head I noticed the big lump on her head. It made me think how much pain she would be in. My eyes watered as if it had rained for just about a year. I was told that she had a brain tumour and they couldn’t remove it. She didn’t know that these days were her last. She came and sat on me and licked my face, soon she fell asleep. I felt her tail wag as she awoke. The pain rose again from the depth of my heart. Goodbye I thought to myself. The day ended hastily as if the sun was only up for a minute the moon rose as the stars did. I unlocked the door and she jumped through then I lead her to my room, she slept on my bed that night. The rest is on the next slide.
7. The sun rose but the clouds were covering it. The day looked as I felt scared, frightened, and sad. Today was the day, the last day I would ever see my Rufus again. The flood gates opened again and the tears ran down my check as if they would never end. We took her to the vet little did she know it was the last time she would ever see me, my family, my house her home again. The memories flooded back to me, the day when I was little, she ate my ice-cream straight off the cone when I was little, the painting I did while she admired from next to me. The love we shared, oh and I could never forget the compactions she showed me. We took her inside the veterinary and they put her on the examining table she sat quietly with no emotion. I couldn’t believe that it was happening to her my darling dog Rufus, the dog that has been with me since I was in my mother’s stomach, it was hard just thinking about it. The moment came when she had to say goodbye I held her paw until it was over the pain wrenched in my guts the pain arose once more. I remember the last thing I ever said to her, ‘’good girl, no one will ever replace you there is no dog like you’’. By Aria
8. EEEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!!! DOG SALIVA!! Doodoo-doodoo-doodoo. THUD!! Luka sprinted off the deck and onto the grass and sat down beside me with the ball in his mouth. ‘Drop’, I said firmly. The bright orange ball dropped out of his mouth and into my hand. ‘Good boy’, I said repeatedly. I picked up the ball with a firm grasp and looked along the dead straight deck, roughly where I was aiming for. ‘SIT’ I said firmly. He sat down on the soft grass. His ears moved forward, his eyes widened and his tail wagged and flicked pieces of cut grass into a perfect semi-circle. I pulled my arm back and flicked it forward in a smooth motion. ‘FETCH IT HERE!’ I yelled. He stood up and leapt onto the deck. Doodoo-doodoo-doodoo. THUD! He flew off the deck and on to the grass. He sprinted along the grass on the other-side with the ball in-sight. Then suddenly a cloud of grass flicked up into the air as Luka skidded to a stop. THUD! He leapt back on to the deck. . Doodoo-doodoo-doodoo. THUD! He sat down beside me and opened his mouth and the ball plopped on to the grass. ‘EEEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!!! DOG SALIVA!!’ I yelled. By Kayne
9. A day in a life of cats I really like what you guys do to save all these neglected animals cause I remember I found this cat that was neglected so I used to feed it at the letterbox. I named it Smoochy because it only smooched with me and Dennis (my flat mate) and before you know it he was inside with my niece playing. I have had the cat for about two and a half years now and I don’t plan on getting rid of him. I also have another cat called Gizzmo he is a very fluffy black, white and grey cat. He’s about seven years old now I have had him since he was a little kitten. He has been sleeping on everything. Where we used to live we flatted with Dennis and my cats just loved to sleep on his DVD player. When my friend woke up he said watch this he got up had breakfast went on the computer and then he said watch this. As soon as he pulled the curtains the cat flew in cause then he knew he was up. With Gizzmo we left this pizza box on the floor and when I went to put it in the rubbish hello hello Gizzmo is fast asleep on the box. So we went out and brought a big fancy cat bed and cushion. And put it next to the box but no he just would not sleep on the box. By Mason
10. My Fat Cat Tane I have got a pet cat called Tane. He is orange on top of his body and white underneath. Tane is a fat lazy cat and weighs 8.9 pounds. He plays with nearly anything that dangles around him. When he’s hungry, he meows out loud until he gets food. One time there was another cat that was eating Tane’s food outside. Tane hissed at the other cat and tried to chase him, but stopped when the other cat went through a gap to his house When Tane see’s paper on the floor he sits or sleeps on it if it’s in sun. When he sleeps, he puts his head upside down. But the only thing is that he is annoying when he’s hungry. My Lockie.
