2. Introduction
Hello there, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Derrick Antwan Black
Jr. In this powerpoint you will get to know just a bit about me , lowest
workplace and just about why i'm an intern at icstars. I will include many things
about me. I hope you learn and get a good aspect of what my change is and
what i'm looking forward to.
3. About me
Growing up on the southside of chicago in low waged neighborhoods , I lived in throughout
englewood and south pullman area. Constantly put dead in front of challenges I was forced to
overcome and had to adapt into a better person than my peers and family. Everywhere I went
there were gang violence and drugs sold throughout the neighborhood. I was once recruited to be
in a gang but I declined because I was raised to be better than that. Not only that but I was
different and not my lifestyle. With a clean record why would I want to mess that up? I have always
wanted to be different and shine brighter than my peers. Hopefully give back to them and to help
bring change throughout my urban neighborhoods.
4. My lowest wage
job
My lowest wage would be WIS
International because it was my first job
to every pay $9.25 a hour. My other jobs
payed 10 to 12 dollars an hour. This was
my last job that I had before I went to
icstars for enlightenment. I was there for
a whole year from January 26, 2015 -
January 25, 2016. I was an inventory
counter for the company. Doing multiple
stores my first 4 months the store
inventory started to go downhill with work
from every 3 weeks to 4 times a month. I
decided to quit because i wasn’t getting
enough hours and pay.
5. “This is your life, are you who you want to
be?” “Is it everything you dream it would
be when the world was younger and you
had everything to lose?”

6. Icstars: build the greatness
In my recent times I hit a bump in my life. Things weren't going so great for
me. Often dwelling on my future I would question my purpose. I was good in
drawing and with game development software. I wanted to go to back school
but I wasn’t ready and I was tired of being bored with nothing to do. With a
creative and innovative mind my talents were going to waste. My mother was
a fellow alumni from icstars and touched by the program she told me to join as
well. I think to hard about what would my future be like and refuse to settle for
a mediocre lifestyle. I want to give to the world and my community something
back and have great stories told about me. I want to leave an impact on
people. I joined to sharpen my skills as a leader. Learn great things about the
world that school doesn’t teach. I want to know what my plan is. I want to
cater to the greater good of mankind. I want to leave a legacy in my future.
