How can we begin to quantify Business Wisdom and what exactly is Wisdom? This slide presentation on Wisdom breaks things down into compartments that make the whole. Think Data goes beyond Big Data and introduces the human element. Let's explore think data, together?
Gaining Wisdom From Knowledge In The Business Universe
1. WISDOM
Wisdom or sapience
is the ability to think
and act using
knowledge,
experience,
understanding,
common sense, and
insight. - Wikipedia
2. Knowledge
All the world’s digital
knowledge stored on
CD-Rom would
reach to the moon!
280,707.5 miles
(451,755 km).
3. Experience
We always seek
talent that has
experience in the
fields we are trying
to fulfill. Experience
is another ingredient
for wisdom
4. Understanding
When we gain
empathy and
discernment of a
thing...
In the newly published book, “The Sniper Mind”
by David Amerland examines these attributes as
they pertain to the Military’s trained Sniper. They
have the knowledge, experience and
understanding of a thing. Even in the first chapter
you will explore nearly impossible feats done
through sheer willpower and wisdom. The Sniper
Mind is in my reading list. It should be in yours!
5. Common Sense
What is common sense?
Sound and prudent
judgment based on a
simple perception of the
situation or facts.
Normality in any given culture is perceived quite
differently from one another. And, should be
recognized and given into account when dealing in
an international situation. Even the way crops are
harvested differently in various cultures. The way
you do it might be perceived by another that you
certainly do not have the common sense God gave a
goose! I believe these are a combination of
knowledge, experience and understanding for a
specific culture / region of the world. And interesting
book to read is “The Wisdom of Crowds” by
James Surowiecki.
6. Insight
What is insight?
the capacity to gain an
accurate and deep
intuitive understanding of
a person or thing.
My creativity for this content piece was
inspired from a private interaction with
Nathan Latka. He was doing a focus study
on the visual functionality of a few
company websites. He wanted MY insight
along with that of several others. So,
“Think Data”!
That’s why I love open sourced in
everything. The human collaboration. The
culmination of knowledge, experience,
understanding, common sense and insight
create wisdom. I invite you to share your
comments and INSIGHTS on ways one
might quantify wisdom?
