Ihmiseen ja kaupunkiin molempiin vaikuttaa suuresti työ. Nyt työn toiminta on suuressa ja nopeassa murroksessa: automatisaatio, robotisaatio, tekoäly, globaali kilpailu ja muut suuret muutostekijät vaikuttavat siihen, miten kaupunki kannattaa järjestää. Teollisuuskaupungin ja kampuskaupungin seuraaja saattaa olla kohtaamisten kaupunki: paikka, jossa erilaiset ihmiset löytävät vuorovaikutukseen keskenään ja luovat hyvinvointia ja vaurautta myös muille. Tässä esityksessä on kaksi Demos Helsingin toteuttamaa case-esimerkkiä, joilla kohtaamisia on haluttu lisätä kaupunkiympäristössä.
