Do you love the beautiful French language? Are you longing to practise your language skills while soaking up French culture and country-
side at the same time?
If so, “A La Française” has the answer. Delphine and the team at “A La Française” have put together a carefully planned, two-week sojourn
that offers you the opportunity to immerse yourself in all things French, live the French life and enjoy the company of people who share
your passion.
The “A La Française” experience allows you to enhance your language skills while exploring destinations that are not on the tourist trail.
You will wander in areas where people rarely see foreigners but are more than happy to share their way of life with you. And the best part
is, they will be very surprised to hear you use their language!
A typical day begins with a French breakfast of croissants from the local boulangerie followed by a two-hour French lesson. Then, on most
days, there will be an organised tour designed to broaden your knowledge of France. This could be a trip to a local village market; a visit
to an oyster farm where you can eat lunch freshly harvested from the Mediterranean; exploring an historic village; or a shopping excursion
to a vibrant city where the heights of French fashion await you.
You must be prepared to do some work though! Delphine encourages her students to use au petit dejeuner and dinner French. This is
challenging at first, but soon even the shyest member of the group feels the joy of using the language, thanks to Delphine’s friendly
encouragement.
Over the course of the two weeks, you will get the occasional day off. Some use this time to visit a local winery or to simply wander among
the vines, smelling the grapes ready for harvest. Then again, you can spend your time reading, relaxing and waiting for your dinner...
“A La Française” also includes a sumptuous French dinner each night, guaranteed to stimulate your language skills. Delphine insists that
all meals are fait maison and mainly regional dishes using fresh, local produce. Be prepared for such delights as salade de gésiers confits,
confit de canard et pommes de terre sautée à l’ail, fondant au chocolat and rosé du village.
“A La Française” is not just another tour, nor is it simply a French workshop or a mere gourmet’s delight; it is all of those things rolled
into one complete experience.
