  2. Gender dysphoria is the feeling of discomfort that usually occurs in people who identify themselves as different from their sex assigned at birth. Gender-diverse people might experience gender dysphoria at any point in their lives A study has been conducted national institute of medical, mental Health and neurosciences in Bangalore which has stated that almost 31 percentage of transgender people end up their life by committing suicide. Among those 31 percentage of transgenders almost 50 percentage of transgender have committed suicide even before their 20th birthday and it is mostly due to fear of rejections from my family and friends in society.   5. The person giving interview is a 23 year old transwoman from a Punjabi family born and brought up in Chennai. She is currently pursuing Sociology honors. She talks about how she was supressing her feelings as growing in a very restrictive family. Her school life was not that great and she was bullied multiple times and support it by sharing various incidents. She tried repressing memories but some instances are unforgettable. In 2019, she figured out that she is facing Gender Dyphoria. She talks about how it felt like a soul of a girl trapped inside a male body. Definitely it is not an easy thing to imagine, world see you a boy but you yourself imagine as a girl trapped into a body of a boy. She felt helpless and questioned her own existence. External pressures like social stigma towards transgender people and also the traditional orthodox parental upbringing also intensified my stress and depression. She also talks about transitioning and how she convinced her family for it. She started transitioning in June 2020. She also mentions how recovering from transitioning was a traumatic experience.   6. Most of the responses were from people who were born male. Two of the changed their gender to woman and the rest identify as non-binary. Half of them don't see themselves transitioning in future because Most of the respondents have not talked about their gender dysphoria with their parents because of the stigma attached to it. The responses were from students, an NGO worker, a young fashion designer, a veterinarian and an IT engineer. Problems faced by them include The dresscode in school and workplces are binary Most of their support groups were friends and people from the community rather than their parents. They are being judged by people for wearing makeup and dressing "differently" in public. Many Transgender people or a person going through gender dysphoria feels uncomfortable in sharing the space with other cis men. Most of them have developed shy bladder (uncomfortable in peeing around people) Most of them are not even aware that transman menstruate. - They didn’t have the courage - It’s difficult for them to accept things as they are - They are not aware of such facilities and don't have the right guidance - The cost of transitioning starts from 6-8 lakhs in India - Being judged for gender non-conformity - Living in a hostel, talking about my feelings - Lack of confidence and not able to process my own emotions - A lot of decisions being biased by their gender identity Answers from Interview guide
