Students may also find a
quiz link from the Content
area if the instructor is
creating quick links to
other tools like, Quizzes,
Dropbox, and Discussions.
3. It is important to select the proper quiz. This is especially important if the quiz
only has one attempt because once it is opened, that is an attempt, error or not!
Once a student selects the
âSTART QUIZâ button they
cannot stop taking the Quiz.
4. This Quiz has been selected but not begun. FIRST, its very
important to read individual quiz directions. Because they may
be different in each quiz and vary greatly with each course.

5. Time allowed is âUnlimitedâ This will RARELY be the case.
There will almost always be a specific time.
Only ONE attempt will be allowed. Some Instructors allow
more than one attempt and record the highest score, but
some Instructors record the lowest score.

6. Instructions say to âSaveâ each response. This quiz allows you to
return to questions and change the answer or answer a question you
missedâBUT SOME quizzes will not allow you to do this! Itâs VERY

to take this quiz. These directions also provide a link to Respondus to
download to install the Lockdown Browser. If youâve already installed
it, open it and navigate back to this quiz.

If you go past a Time Limit on a Time Limited Quiz, in many cases
you will fail the quizâeven if you answered those last questions
correctly. Watch the clock. Look for any given âGrace periodsâ.
Depending on how the Instructor set up the quiz,
you might see an Estimated Length and Time Taken.

But some do NOT allow you to âgo backwardsâ
in a quiz⊠read directions carefully!

questions have been answered and saved, and that your quiz has started.

When finished, select the âSave all Responsesâ button, then select
the âGo to Submit Quizâ button.
15. NOTE, If you try to submit a quiz with
unanswered questions, you will see a
warning at the top of the Submit Quiz page
informing you about unanswered questions.
Click each link beneath the warning to return
to each unanswered question.

16. If your quiz has a time-limit you may be
prompted or forced to submit your quiz.
If the quiz is set to auto-submit,
at the end of the designated time period
only saved questions submit.
NOTE: Although you can start a quiz and
navigate away from it at any time during the
attempt, the timer for the quiz does not pause
and continues to record your Time Taken.

you can click on any page of
questions (1-10) in the side menu.
Or, if youâre finished select the

SOME instructors donât allow you to
see anything but your quiz grade.
After the quiz has been submitted:
SOME instructors allow you to see (only) the correct answers,
SOME instructors allow you to see (only) the incorrect answers,
SOME instructors allow you to see both or neither. Any quiz can be different.
20. OK, youâve submitted your quiz and, (if allowed
by the instructor) you may read the answers.
But how many attempts are allowed with this
quiz? If there are more than one attempts
allowed, and you didnât get a perfect score, you
should return to take the quiz again!
