 Go out to all types of different land owners in the Southern Cape and part of the
Eastern Cape to explain to them the importance of the National Veld and Forest
Act 101 of 1998 and the benefits of joining the SCFPA.
 Fire risk assessments of properties and farms.
 Draw up emergency smoke detection plans and fire management plans for a
combination of farms.
 Manage teams to assist farmers with fire prevention work (firebreak construction,
alien clearing, controlled burning etc.)

disaster departments in order to reduce the fire risk within the Southern Cape.
