Eastern Cape to explain to them the importance of the National Veld and Forest
Act 101 of 1998 and the benefits of joining the SCFPA.
Fire risk assessments of properties and farms.
Draw up emergency smoke detection plans and fire management plans for a
combination of farms.
Manage teams to assist farmers with fire prevention work (firebreak construction,
alien clearing, controlled burning etc.)
Manage and fight wild fires
Ensure Integrated Fire Management takes place within my area of responsibility.
This includes working with land owners, state organizations, fire services and
disaster departments in order to reduce the fire risk within the Southern Cape.
To stop a fire or to prevent an unwanted wild fire you need great team work from
all the involved parties and my job is to make this process as smooth as possible.
