SOME BACKGROUND
The University of Hertfordshire is one of the UK’s leading business-facing
universities. This esteemed establishment employs over 2,700 people, boasting a
student community of over 25,000, which includes international students from 100
different countries.
WHAT THEY NEEDED
Open day registrations are a crucial step in undergraduate student acquisition.
Once a student has visited a university campus, it’s incredibly likely they will select
that university as one of their preferred choices. So the University of Hertfordshire
needed a two pronged approach.
First, it needed to drive high quality traffic to its site. Secondly, with average
abandonment in the education sector standing at a staggering 92.1%, it needed a
strategy to turn that traffic into open day registrations.
THE SOLUTION
To attract high quality traffic, we started with VeAds, our dynamic digital display

Next came our VePrompt app to engage students at the very point of open day
registration abandonment. The on-brand custom overlay launches just before a
prospective student closes the page.
The stand-out design, with a clear, concise and engaging Call-to-Action, kept students
onsite, recovering otherwise lost open day registrations at this critical moment.
For those that did leave the site, we were armed with our VeContact app. By sending
triggered, personalised emails, we were able to bring students back to complete the
registration process.
